My original documents I scanned and they were HUGE. like the original PDF was about 190mb. I got it squished down with Adobe Acrobat X into 1.5mb. I scanned everything like max DPI because it all has pictures and scribbles and watermarks.... (Ya know, all that legal gibberish stuff.)

My husband's AOS was about 20-30mb and I got it squished into 4.8 in the email He scanned it at 200dpi I think.

Even though I have to travel ALL THE WAY from British Columbia to Montreal for the interview I am so STOKED to FINALLY try the real deal poutine! I mean we have poutine here in BC, but I have heard nothing can compare to what they have in Montreal! I plan on staying there for at least a week and living off the stuff  seeing as I am paying at least 700 dollars for a plane ticket there and back!

Excellent news ! There are two routes for two Poutine Tours, if you want to dig in.

One is walking tour, if you stay near the consulate.

The other is the train tour.

Either one needs a modicum of advance planning, but just a modicum.

And don't forget - whilst yer in Montreal, stop at a big grocery store, buy the 2 kg packages of powdered poutine gravy, bring them with you when you immigrate, and ship to Saylin once you unpack, la. 10 packages is a nice amount, btw.

So as I had been thinking it will be nice to have to call the NVC to check progress of AoS and IV packages...I was SO WRONG. Am I the only one who is made to feel so small by those operators? haha "well when did you send it? you have to wait 20 days and then we will send you information on the next step" I just wanted to scream, "I KNOW IT DOESN"T ALWAYS TAKE 20 DAYS!!!!" But I was polite and will call back tomorrow or Wednesday. i knew it was a long shot since the AoS just got there last Monday and IV last Wednesday, but you can't blame a wife for trying! I think they need to allow people like us who have been through this to be the ones to work there. Compassion...yes we are calling all the time but separated from our loved ones anyone would do the same!

Don't you hate how you feel after you call? That's why I decided to take a break from calling. I think I get the same person every time and she always says the same thing and makes me feel stupid for calling.
