Hi Folks,

I am a newbie here and have been a long-time lurker in this forum and this thread.

Now the issue is, my IR-1 was approved on 03/12/2013. I have tried almost over twenty times oh the phone from NVC to get a case number and still they say they have not generated the case number. It has passed their normal 15 business days timeline and still nothing. So, I had scanned the Approval Notice and sent it to NVC and I got a email reply today saying they are going to contact USCIS to locate the file.

I also contacted tier 2 representative at USCIS 1-800 number and the rep. said I need to wait at least 30 days before they can do anything about it ( eg. generate a case request).

It looks like lots of field office approvals are taking longer than normal for NVC to receive the cases. My case was forwarded to NBC from CSC, so NBC typically sends I-130 to local field office. Also, going through internet research (may or may not be true), but field office approvals are only sent once a month, so they are sending batches of I-130 approvals to NVC, this could be potential reason for delay.

But this is definitely causing headaches. Anyone, else in similar shoes?

Mine took a few weeks from USCIS approval to NVC case number issued, but they said that it can take up to 20 business days after NVC receives it. I would wait their recommended time frames. Did they tell you that they've received it at least?

We've petitioned for my mother-in-law. My husband just called and they said that they need original marriage certificate for the IV package. We did include our original marriage certificate. In fact, this is the same marriage certificate that was used during my husbands CR-1 immigration proceedings, same marriage certificate that was used during his removal of conditional status, and same one used during citizenship. I am not sure why NVC is not accepting it. Any suggestions?

NVC said they have not received it. This is the email response I got:

Dear Sir/Madam:

Please be advised that the National Visa Center (NVC) has received your inquiry and the attached I-797 Notice of Action - Approval Notice.

Unfortunately, we do not have record of receiving your approved petition from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. The NVC will contact USCIS on your behalf for information on the location of this petition.

Fields offices are bundling approvals and sending them to NVC ONCE A MONTH. Yours is probably sat in a shelf somewhere waiting to be sent.

hi saylin! gud day. I would like to ask about aos. My husband's joint sponsors are his parents. do they have to fill up 3 i-864? 1 for my husband, 1 for his mom and 1 for his dad? Am i right? thank u!

Husband = I-864

Main parent sponsor = I-864

Parent's spouse = I-864A

hey saylin....hope u'll help me clear this doubt of mine....I've the same situation like Angeljay referred to....My husband's joint sponsors are my parents....we had filed I-864 from me; I-864A from my dad & I-864A from my mom....and NVC had accepted our AOS packet without any questions asked....I was wondering whether I should do an I-864 from my dad also as his is main parent sponsor...just in case....what are the chances that they will ask for it during the interview?

It's been 13 working days since my IV packet reached NVC and still no "case complete". :crying:

Is this normal?

And if we don't get "case complete" by April 15th, I guess we'll have to wait one more month for embassy interview to be scheduled...

So we called back and asked for supervisor to review the package. They're saying that they do not see marriage certificate included in the package whereas we know we've included it. Does anyone know how long it takes for supervisor review?
