Why do you have to dial a pin? We have Vonage, if you are using a phone attached to the Vonage box, then we never enter our pin. Also, just get a cheap cordless phone, and store all the numbers in it.

I would give it 8.5 out of 10. Yes, occasionally we get 'lines busy', but it's rare. Most of the time, we get problems on the other end, with relatives who live on the edge of cell coverage. And sometimes it drops a call. BUT, for my wife to be able to call nearly anyone in the Philippines anytime she wants / needs, is indispensable. And I can call my friends overseas as well!

Im dialing a pin because im using my Vonage Globe from my cellular phone. :-) Yes I also have that Vonage box/device which I brought with me when I stayed in the Philippines for like 2 years!! And in that Vonage box/device, we NEVER dial a pin..That device is pretty awesome!,, I used that device just like a regular land line/Home phone to call my parents in the US. Again, im dialing a pin because im calling from my CELLULAR PHONE :) Not from the device/box because I already left that box in the Philippines so my relatives back there can call us anytime here in the US...Vonage customer here since 2007.. Great service all in all!! ;-)

I used both.. they got there ups and downs

Vonage says unlimited but after you go over 3000 min.. they make you pay more money or threaten to cut off your services

Globe is good but there customer services sucks and they give you numbers that marketers can spam calls.

I think what Vonage says is that it 'may' cut you off after 3000 minutes. I'm not sure we have ever hit 3000 minutes, I mean, honestly, that's an hour and a half every day. If you were talking to your fiancé I can see hitting that. But for your wife or fiancé who is here, that's a lot of time to call back home. There are certainly days when my wife calls for more than an hour or two. But other days she doesn't call at all. 3000 minutes is a lot of time. And I suspect that clause is mainly in there to keep people from trying to run businesses using the line.

Been using Globe International Duo since last October. $25 a month and it's unlimited calling for me in the US to her virtual number. Call quality is great and sounds like a typical cell phone. Now you can request virtual numbers in your area if Long distance calling is an issue.

We added a line for $4.95 a month with our daughter to be in Phils. She has a US number in our area code so she can call here for no charge.. She has to have DSL but it gives her the ability to call us any time for free since we are also on vonage. We use the $29.99/mo unlimited Globe calling plan also. The wife has the extension ap on her cell phone and by using the ap, no pin is required and it is free call to another globe number in Phils. We get the line is busy occasionally but it often depends on the holiday, time of use, ect for the Manila exchanges. Noticed if after 4 rings, we call back immediately and are connected to the "local ring" sound and then we get through.

I swear by it, it's a good deal, best I've found and the quality is excellent.
