When getting photos done in a foreign country, do not tell them that you want passport photos as most countries have passport photos that are smaller than US size. Tell them you want photos for a US visa, then they'll know what you need (all US size photos are the same, for any visa, for passport, etc).

I had the same problem when my fiancee sent her passport photo to me. I asked her to go back to the place where she got the photo taken and see if they would give her the digital copy on a thumb drive. They did, cost a few pesos, and after she uploaded it to our shared dropbox I was able to print it out in the correct size with a cheap photo printer I have.

Since this is all new to me I have no idea if your situation will result in an RFE but it wouldn't hurt to have a replacement just in case it does.

I'm wondering if maybe he can do this instead. Retaking the pics but having them put the pic on a memory card and emailing to me.

I had the same situation!! When we went to get his passport pictures in Mexico the girl there asked us what size we wanted them, passport or "infantil" size( i dont know what that is used for) and I told her passport size, and she told me they don't do those there -_- so his pictures were tiny!!! But the place I went to get help filing my paperwork were able to scan and print them to the correct size! Im sure you can resize them somewhere :))

How was the quality of the picture after you made it bigger?

What place did you go to do that?

The quality was good. I went to a place where they help you file all different kinds of apps for immigration. I think they just scanned it and resized it. I had gone to two different CVS to see if they could resize for passport size, and they told me I couldnt do that, that the person who needed the passport pictures had to take them in the store! I tried resizing them on my own at Walmart, and that didn't work out.

Yes this is exactly what happened to me today when I went to CVS....the pic was scanning too big ?

I gotta find somewhere else to see if they can.

Scan the picture as a normal picture. Then use the site I posted previously. It doesn't really "resize" the picture so much as crop it/change it to the US specifications based on your selection. Give it a shot.
