I wasn't expecting it, but I was able to send in a service request!! My NOA1 date is August 27. I was just wondering, any positive or negative feedback on service requests? Does it help at all?

I just called USCIS and filed a service request based on being past the processing time of 5 months - the lady I spoke with was very kind and helpful so who knows - atleast i feel like I did something positive.

That's awesome! Did she happen to mention the wait time for a decision after filing the service request? It's been 9 months since I've seen my fiancé and I really have minimum patience left in me..

A Service Request is just what it is. Please review my file/petition. It is good to request them to act. Everything you say is documented. Without a RFE you might be worrying yourself to much. Be patient.... The next post we may see from you is NOA2 Approved! You'll be fine. Tim/Mav

Strange. We're with CSC too and our NOA1 date is 24 July and I can submit a service request. It still says we're within the 'normal processing time'.

I was extremely surprised as well. I've tried sending a service request in every day for the last 2 months, and today was the only time it let me!

Sorry - I meant to type 'can't' - obviously wishful thinking on my part.

so a service request can be sent online? I just did it over the phone - I am learning new things daily here

Yes - from the USCIS website - click on 'e-request' and complete your details.

I already submitted a service request over a month ago, and a few weeks later, I got an email stating I was within the current processing times. The case was not even touched.

It did absolutely nothing for me.

I sent a service request a few weeks ago despite being "within normal processing times" and nothing has happened, so don't get your hopes up. I called again a few days ago requesting they put in another request, and the guy on the line said "it's a waste of time."

Wow.. What else can We do? I am in the dark along with so many of you. Waiting doesn't seem reasonable when we were told 5 months and fee'd 340$
