Can anyone please tell me what the NOA2 is and where this notice will come from. Is this the letter you receive from the NVC with the case # and that the paperwork is being forwarded to the embassy?

Your NOA2 is the document that hopfully says that your petition is approved. You should get your case # within 2 weeks, hopefully sooner. After you have been given a case# your file will be forwarded to the appropriated embassy. I hope this helps. Good luck

the NOA2 comes from USCIS, it will inform you whether or not your petition was approved or denied.

Noa 2 comes from the uscis. It's a approval letter from the uscis and your case automatically gets transferred to nvc from there than the embassy.

approval OR denial...hopefully approval

Thanks for all the quick replies! I have the NOA2 then.... Paperwork was approved. Received it on November 30th and then got the notice from NVC on December 7th and they gave me the case #. However, the embassy is saying they didn't receive the paperwork yet. My fiancee is in the process of filing a DS160 with the embassy so that he can schedule an appointment. (Praying that he can get an appointment soon.... I've heard that people applying at this particular Embassy have long waits for an appointment, a year or longer :( )

Can anyone please tell me what the NOA2 is and where this notice will come from. Is this the letter you receive from the NVC with the case # and that the paperwork is being forwarded to the embassy?
