Here's an email string to help you see how things have gone. Our NOA2 was Oct 5. NVC received case October 30.

- November 2, I asked an email question to NVC....

"Has our case been forwarded from the National Visa Center to the Consulate in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil?"

- November 7, I received this email reply from NVC...

"Please be advised this case is currently under administrative processing. The NVC will send further instructions once this processing is completed."

- November 7, I replied to NVC ..........

What is "administrative processing"? Is that something different from the normal case processing? Is there a document that I need to submit?

- November 13, NVC replied.................

Dear Sir or Madam,

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

The NVC has recently received the approved 129F petition file for a fiancé of a US citizen. The file will be processed in approximately 2-4 weeks and forwarded to the appropriate Consulate General. The Consulate General may or may not request additional information before interviewing the applicant for a K1 non-immigrant visa.

Regards,

National Visa Center

ACB

My Question to this forum....What the heck are they doing at NVC that requires another 2-4 weeks? So what are they reviewing that has already been approved? Any idea?

Could be a name hit and they need to do some more checks.....nothing to worry about

Some people have mentioned that it is a more detailed name check or hit that can cause a case to go into admin processing... I'll have to search for the post that I'm referring to...

Here's the post... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;hl=name+check

At National Visa Center (State Department) stage, a separate independent NCIC database check is done by in-house FBI staff in connection with information supplied in the DS-230. Based on results, NVC has the option to request full fingerprints to be taken at post. NVC checks can usually be completed in 24 hours. In some limited cases involving high-risk visa applicants meeting certain specific criteria, NVC also does Security Advisory Opinions (SOAs) before sending the file to Consular Post.

I think I've spotted a post of yours on that lone Bangladesh thread in the Asia:South forum....

Nice to see at least one fellow active Bangladeshi member :)

Also, glad to see that you and your wife are together in the states! (F)
