Freaking out about Interview

Just wanted some feedback or thoughts on this as I get anxious easily even if its a job interview or other stuff so this just keeps adding to it and I've had some nightmares.

So I'm a US. Resident (green card) holder for last 21 years and my parents have it as well and my grandparents are US Citizens. I decided to file N-400 in lieu of renewing a green card for another 10 years. Never been convicted, arrested, detained or anything like that. Do owe IRS money but got the agreement and proof of good standing. I'm thinking that my interview should be a breeze since I've been here so long, arrived as a green card holder when I was 10 years old, and not on student visa, or marriage or illegaly entered.

Anyway this website helped me some and put me on axniety with other things. Last night I had a nightmare that during my interview the IO pulled out a Library Card application and said YOU MARKED US CITIZEN - DEPORTED and they took me straight from the office to the plane..LOL..i know silly.

Well as far as I can remember on every government document I placed US Resident and my A# number. Never registered to vote, never really dealt with any immigration officers other than renewing green card in 2002 and then when I entered with my parents in 1992. Had a Jury Duty notice, but sent in copy of green card saying I'm ineligible, all my I9s for work show that I'm a resident with A#...even bank has me as US resident.

But i can't help to think that I might have mistakenly put US Citizen on something...I know the difference, but maybe during rushing to get paperwork done and now I'm thinking, Gosh what did I put on my selective service registration, elementary school paperwork back in early 90s when my English was poor, etc..etc..

My question is;

How deep to they look? What if someone did make a mistake, but it was not to gain anything or defraud anyone as it either would not make a difference between US Citizen or US Resident in case of I9 if nothing it to be gained by it...just curious and wondering. I know it's the worst that someone can do and lie and I know that I've been diligent with paperwork...but Im I obsessive about thinking in regards to what I put on my blockbuster application in 95 or are they looking for bigger fish such as past illegal aliens that lied to Border Patrol Agents about Citizenship or Illegal Aliens that should not be working but found work anyway and listed US Citizenship.

Thanks

Stud.

They look, but in all honesty... stop worrying. Trust me, I understand your obsessive stress level. You sound like me. But from everything you've said, you've been a good permanent resident, never gotten into trouble, are taking steps to fix your tax issues (take all the proof of that, btw) and have done everything that you could the right way.

At this point, to your full and best knowledge, you have not indicated anywhere that you are a US Citizen. There should be no issue with this.

Oh ... but in case you were wondering ... I don't think they look at your library card history, lol. Do something to relieve all that stress and tension and just know that soon, it will alllllll be behind you.

Depends on where the mistake was made. I've seen people denied because the cashier at the DMV ticked "register to vote" on the computer when doing someone's license. Not their fault, but blamed. USCIS usually assumes you did it on purpose unless you can PROVE it wasn't something you did.

I wouldn't worry about it though. I mean sure, it's a concern for all of us as that's the "big no no" but all you can be is honest and see what happens.

Well I can understand your worry. I brought this up to an immigration attorney who is very well known. He told me you cant worry about every little thing you filled out. If you did not vote or register to vote, or lie to a border officer or something like that you should be OK. I asked about I-9 form as well he told me if something like that happen to an LPR who did nothing to defraud but just ticked wrong box specially with the old form that had boxes close together. He said there is no intent. What would be the benefit. Just his words not mine.

When is your interview?

Now if you interview and all goes well please post your experience here so others may learn from it.

Don't be like some people who post and then never come back.

Good luck I think you will be fine.

When they ask the questions from the application, meverything is to the best of your knowledge... Sounds to me that to the best of your knowledge, you are an upstanding lpr and should be an upstanding citizen as well. If you have not lied to gain advantage then your should be ok. Keep the anxiety in check, keep calm and move forward, don't get sidelined by fears... Keep focused and you will be fine, deep breath! (We all know where your coming from and give in to moments of unwarranted panic)... You'll be fine

Comprehensive knowledge of that ten page N-400 is extremely important in that you do understand every question and answer it honestly. If never married nor divorced, that is what N/A's are for. Always seem to miss one or two of those. Residency requirements are no problem if you never made any trips.

We tend to go over that application 3 or 4 times to make sure everything is correct with breaks between those sessions.

Stepdaughter's situation was very similar to yours, more N/A's in her application than anything else, so really not much to talk about during her less than ten minute interview, she memorized all 100 civic questions. Did hit her for proof I paid a 50 buck traffic fine for her when she was a minor, but later retracted that. After we got that proof.

Just curious how you received your green card when you were ten years old, and must assume your parents are also aliens. Apparently neither of them applied for US citizenship before you were 18 so you are on your own. Get a nice hair cut, have a clean cut look, no rings hanging on your ears or nose, dress neatly, be nice. Quickly answer questions looking your IO straight in the eye, and you will be fine.

Stepdaughter was in college and dressed like a college student dresses today. Her mom, said, you are not going to your interview like that, they are the same size so she dressed her, LOL..

Your timeline isn't filled out yet, so I don't know ... but when did you file?

Also, it's unlikely that the interview itself will take two hours. Most people are in and out in half an hour or less, but if they are backed up you may have to wait a while, so do budget a few hours.

I filed on january 8th..got biometrics on 1/28, got in line for interview on 2/1 and received interview letter on 3/4 for next month.

Another question...man i'm really stressing everything. I'm not sure if I filled out AR-11 Change of Address within 10 days at least once or twice moving. I think one time I might have failed to do one or did it few months later. How big of a deal is that? Like I said the more I read the more anxious I get..I should just stop reading and just go into it with all i got and not worry about it...Don't want to get deported after 21 years because I missed AR-11 deadline..
