Chat Records Stress

I am finding that going through 3 years worth of chat logs to be completely stressful. It is nice to re-read things, and see how we have progressed as a couple, but there is so much, and I just do not have the time or patience really when I am doing so much already. I have a lot of evidence, pictures and such, it's just these chat records that are breaking me, lol. I know I don't even have them all and I am wondering if anyone who has gone through the Moroccan Consulate in Casablanca has ever sent in a petition without chat logs and the problems it may or may not have caused. What are your thoughts on alternative suggestions of showing on-going interaction, like email headers, facebook interaction etc. This would be much easier than scouring pages upon pages upon pages of chat over the course of 3 years. OY VE!

We had tons of chat. So we picked one day per week chats and print that. The rest I put on a thumb drive for my then fiancee interview. They never looked at the thumb drive.

Hi Sara! I would recommend all of the above. It is time consuming, but from what I have read on VJ about Casa, is that the CO's are skeptical of any relationship that they see. That being said, it's important to show them that you chat on a regular basis, and about various things from religion, to kids, to what you had for dinner (daily things). I wish I had had more to send, but we mostly talk on Skype several times a day, so most of what I had to send was pages of SkypeLogView, and pictures, as well as some Facebook chats from when Skype was not working for us. Even one chat a month is good, I think, as long as it's not all "love you," and "kisses," and mushy non-relevant stuff. If you don't take the time to gather the pages, and he is denied... will you be asking yourself "what-if I had?" Good Luck on your journey!

No thumb drives or electronic media can be looked at, so printouts are the way to go.

Pick meaningful messages that YOU want THEM to see. Avoid overwhelming them with too many. Print the overall log (message titles only). Perhaps print a bunch of full messages, pick the most meaningful to hand over at first, and keep some "secondary" ones with you to offer during the actual interview.

Thank you all I appreciate the advice, and I will definitely use it, bottom line is I do have to take the time, I babysit all day, go to school, and take care of my family and I am like I don't even have time to read a novel! But some other advice someone gave me was that I can send in this particular evidence at the NVC stage, which gives me time to do this and still get the petition in! We are so ready to get started. FYI as a K-1 petition, it will only be at NVC 1-2 weeks... I don't know that you have the opportunity to add more. With the CR-1 additional evidence can be sent in with the DS-230... I'm pretty sure they don't even let you know when it has arrived and when it has left NVC.... I would ask that specific question on here.

BTW there is something called SkypeLogView (google it) it lets you easily compile the Skype logs that have occurred on that computer. It's free to download, and makes it so easy. You can list chats and/or calls and specify the timeframe.

I didnt frontload anything, I only sent the required forms in the beginning stage with two snap shots of us together. Before his interview, I sent him all the required documentss, I864, etc. and in that packet, I added the evidence with monthly chat logs of skype, yahoo, cell phone bills, a total of 20 pictures of my visits, flight tickets, money exchange recipts, hotel recipes, car rental recipes, grocery recipes occuring over a year and a half. So really, before his interview, they only had those two pictures to go by to review.

During the interview, they never asked for our chat records, phone records or pictures, go figure. All that work for nothing, but thats Casa for ya, ya never know.

If I had to do this all over again Sarah, I would have frontloaded for sure.

We front loaded, I sent all of our chat records, it ended up being several hundred pages. I can't say that was the right thing to do but we never had a problem with our case.
