Hi,

I'm so glad to hear that the K-1 visa goes well for most in CJ as my Fiancé will have his interview soon. I was hoping you'd be able to help me answer some questions that i've been getting mixed answers about if it's not too much trouble.

I was wondering if when you guys went through the process and filled out the DS -260 if you put spouse as the relationship to the petitioner? One person said they put Spouse and there were no issues, others said you can't put Spouse because you're not married. But fiancé isn't an option I'm not sure what to put. Any advice?

Also did your fiancé's have to go to an ASC appt for finger printing and photos in their city in Mexico before the interview?

And do you know if you can go to another local doctor to get vaccinations or if they have to be given by the US embassy doctor? My Fiancé has had some vaccinations on the list, but not all of them, and I've heard that vaccinations, if given to many at once, can make you sick. So we were hoping he could get some done at a local doctor before he sees the medical doctor in Juarez.

I ask these questions because I cannot seem to get in touch with someone who can give me clear information, and my Fiance's packet of instructions has still not arrived so we're kind of in the dark. They embassy told us to send in the DS 260 and interview payment, and make the interview appointment while we're waiting for the packet to arrive. Is that normal? They said in most cases the packet's never arrive. Therefore we're researching to figure out what they steps would be incase the packet doesn't arrive.

I apologize for the large number of questions, but I truly appreciate your time.

Regards.

You mark 'spouse' on the DS-260. the DS-260 is actually not supposed to be used for a fiance(e) visa, but for some reason Juarez started requiring it for K-1 applicants. Spouse is the only and best choice at that point on the form.

You do not need to wait for the 'packet' to get the instructions.

Here is how it works for Juarez:

You need to get your CDJ case #, invoice # and beneficiary ID # from the NVC before you can fill out the DS-260 by calling 603-334-0700

Juarez will send the USC and the beneficiary in Mexico a letter. Sometimes the letter does not reach the person in Mexico because of the crappy mail system there. If the only one that receives it is the USC, it can be mailed or scanned and emailed and printed out by the beneficiary in Mexico. It does not have to be the original.

The letter you receive points you to the sites where the instructions, forms and place to schedule your appointment and interview is. The letter is the only 'packet' you will receive. You should go to the links(which I am posting below) listed in the letter. The letter will be needed by the K-1 applicant at their ASC, medical and interview in Juarez, along with the confirmation page from the DS-260.

Here are the forms: http://ciudadjuarez....ianceforms.html , instructions (very important to follow and they explain a lot): http://photos.state....packetk1may.pdf ,schedule ASC: http://mexico.usvisa-info.com , and CDJ info: http://www.visajourn...xico&cty=Juarez

While waiting, you can read through the reviews to see how the procedure works and what documents were needed by others applying for a K-1: http://www.visajourn...&cty=&dfilter=5

Wow, thanks so much for the information. That would be wonderful if the letter arrived to my address in the states. I already have the information from NVC and have filled out the DS 260, I was just worried about the Spouse thing because of the mixed responses I was getting, so thank you for clarifying that. I will look over the links you sent to me for now and hope the letter arrives before the end of the month. I really appreciate the information.

Best Wishes,

Roma

Hi everyone

I'm preparing last minute documents with my fiancé who has his interview in a little over a week. I was seeing online that people were sending in bank statements from the last two years of their accounts. I only sent my Fiancé, bank account statements from January and March of this year. Do you know if this is ok, or do I need to provide more bank statements? I appreciate your help.

Also I have a letter from my bank stating when i opened my account, how much I have in it, and what my deposits were for the year 2012 and 2013, plus the two statements and all other financial documents asked. I just didn't send him bank statements from 2012 or 2011. Is this enough you think? Thanks again.

No reason for 2 years of bank statements at all. Some people have shown 6 months to a year worth. Bank statements are really only needed if using assets or needing to show any other forms of income you have deposited to your account, such as non-taxable incomes. Most important to show and prove is current income with a letter from employer and/or most recent pay stub(s) sent along with your most recent tax transcript and I-134.

Ok thanks for confirming. I had saw some older posts from people who said they got RFE's and/or blue slips for not have 2 years worth of bank statements. I have all the other stuff and I managed to print out a statement online from 2011 just incase they ask for it. Thanks again for all your help. We're so close! Next week is the big day!

Saludos!

Hey guys.

sorry to keep bothering. I just have one more question regarding the interview. I heard that depending on how many people are in the consulate the day of the interview that you can be there waiting for up to 5 hours! So my question is are we allowed to bring laptops to do work and snacks into the waiting room? I thought while I'm waiting I might be able to get some work done. If not, I'll bring a book. I'm more concerned with the food though. lol. Any ideas? I really appreciate all your help! I'll let everyone know how the interview goes this week! Saludos-

No electronics or food. Items that are not allowed in the consulate are listed on page 10 of the instructions> http://photos.state.gov/libraries/ciudadjuarez/231771/PDFs/packetk1may.pdf
