Is it ok to include a CD in my I-130 package?

I will contain the following photos:

-Our Photos when we first started dating

-All my Gifts to her

-Some Skype Screenshots

-Pre-Wedding Photos

-Church Ceremony

-Wedding Reception

-And A Short Clip of our Wedding

-Images showing our daily emails from each other (At least 20 e-mails almost everyday) up to now (And some dating back in 2010)

Is this overkill?

I am only doing this because I don't know how else I would prove our marriage because we just got married last Nov.

Please let me know what you guys think.

Thank you guys in advance for your reply. Magandang Gabi sa Inyong Lahat!

Put yourself in the IO shoes. Would you go to the trouble of placing the CD into the disk drive and then looking at all that information? The CD most likely will be tossed or ignored. Go through it and print out a few pages of the photos, and screen shots. You may want to include a few of the e-mails that span the years. You just got married so you do not have a lot. No one does so relax. Now in 2 years when you file your ROC you will need more fiancial stuff like tax returns (do not forget to file 2012 as married and either filing jointly or seperately which ever gives you the best tax advantage--you may need to get her an ITIN to file jointly. If this will take beyond April 15th then file an extension), joint bank accounts, joint credit cards, etc.

My recommendation is to send only paper evidence.

Good luck,

Dave

You can include the CD but have a few actual hard copy pictures of each event with the descriptions on the back. Also have some printed pages of the skype screen shots.

I doubt if anyone will look at the CD as busy as they are...Nowhere in the instructions it asking to present CDs.

Make hard copies of everything on the CD and sent that instead. Good luck!

CD disk, hard drive, flash drive, any type of computer hardware/software etc will not be accessed. Its a security issue. Its a government building with government computers. They are not going to load an unknown item into it and press play. Who knows what will happen. It could be loaded with a deadly virus or harmless wedding pics.

Its going to be trashed untouched. Paper printed photos only. Or if you must be digital, you can include a sheet of paper with a link to a publicly accessible webpage that the CO can access, because the CO can go online through the appropriate firewalls and view it, however some COs cant be bothered to do that. (to jump through the security hoops to view an outside link and then document why they were viewing it- its a hassle)

Precisely. Avoid electronic/digital media formats of any kind. They can't be taking into consideration for your petition. It is also mentioned in the i129f instructions.

The CO might go online but don't count on it because they're not required to, so add the pictures in the petition and not just a link. While a CO might go online, it's mostly to verify your information, if it can be verified. Such as your address, your marital status, background check etc. However, if you print a screenshot of your facebook profile showing you're in a relationship, you've also given USCIS your fb profile name. Most likely, your email address as well. I wouldn't think too much about though.

Hey Thanks Guys. I appreciate every reply. I will throw away the cd and just include a couple of photos.

Hi there, in our I-130 packet, we also enclosed a couple of affidavits from family members and friends who attested that ours is a bona fide marriage. I believe there is a template for this on VJ, so I'll look up the link. Hope this helps, although I feel you have plenty of evidence based upon your OP. Totally agree re the photos, we didn't include any electronic copies just hard copies.
