Hi everyone!

I'm starting to fix my ROC packet. I can file on 3/17 but probably will end up waiting until the end of the month since I am not ready.

I just have a couple of questions!

1. Fee is still 590?

2. Can I use a PO box as my mailing address since I will be moving twice throughout the process?

3. How should the packet be assembled? In paperclips? Stapled? Should I get an accordion folder? Just want to know the best way to organize it

4. How did you mail it? USPS priority or express mail?

5. Heres what I am gathering so far:

G1445

I-751 form - still waiting for my husband to mail me the signed form

I have about 15 pics of us in various trips- should I put captions on the back?

2011 and 2012 tax transcripts- still waiting to receive it

POA (he's deployed)

His orders? (Not sure if necessary)

Life insurance listing me as beneficiary

Joint bills- how many should I send? each month for the past two years?

Bank/CC statements- same question, how many? just the current one or each month?

Our son's BC

Photocpoy of our DL

Lease with both of us listed

plane itinerary when we travelled

car insurance with us both listed

do those look good?

6. Anything else I need to send in the packet? I know a photocopy of my GC is needed right? Did everyone make a cover letter?

Thanks so much!! Appreciate any advice!

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

DON'T FORGET TO SEND IN JOINT TAX RETURNS AND TAX TRANSCRIPTS FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS. COPY OF FRONT AND BACK OF YOUR GREENCARD. ANY MAIL UNDER YOUR NAME AND HUSBAND'S NAME GOING TO SAME ADDRESS. AS FOR ME, WE SENT IN EVERY JOINT BANK STATEMENT FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS WHICH OTHER VJ MEMBERS ONLY SENT IN SOME JOINT BANK STATEMENTS. ALSO, MAKE SURE WHEN YOU SEND IN YOUR JOINT BANK STATEMENTS, COPY ALL PAGES THAT THE BANK HAD SENT YOU EVERY MONTH. YOU DON'T HAVE TO SEND IN EVERY BANK STATEMENT FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS BUT I DID. GOOD LUCK.

1. I believe so.

2. other people say you can but I have no experience with this.

3. However you organize it, they are going to undo it and do it their own way in the mailroom. So paperclips, sure, but no staples and certainly no fancy accordion folder - they will just throw it away :)

4. Whatever you want.

5. Looks good! Be sure to include a copy of the front AND back of the GC.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package

Thank you Harpa!! How about the bills and bank statements? Monthly or quarterly? Monthly seems like overdoing it, does it not? Also, no need for affidavits?

I'm starting to fix my ROC packet. I can file on 3/17 but probably will end up waiting until the end of the month since I am not ready.

I just have a couple of questions!

1. Fee is still 590? YEP

2. Can I use a PO box as my mailing address since I will be moving twice throughout the process? Given what you said in the other thread I would strongly recommend using a PO box as the mailing address

3. How should the packet be assembled? In paperclips? Stapled? Should I get an accordion folder? Just want to know the best way to organize it I used one big clip to hold everything together including the check

4. How did you mail it? USPS priority or express mail? I used express amil and put "USCIS-- Form I-751" as part of the address

5. Heres what I am gathering so far:

G1445 I did not include this as it staes in the instructions that this is for the lockbox facilities and the main service centers do not have the electonic capabilites yet

I-751 form - still waiting for my husband to mail me the signed form

I have about 15 pics of us in various trips- should I put captions on the back? Since our photos were digital I printed them and put the information on the front. You may want to put a couple of photos per page and copy them and put the relivant information under the photo

2011 and 2012 tax transcripts- still waiting to receive it Were you married in 2010? If so, you might want a tax transcirpt, if not--never mind.

POA (he's deployed)

His orders? (Not sure if necessary) Not a bad idea if they request an interview and he is still on deployment you can state "Hey, I told you he is deployed and that is why I am alone at this interview."

Life insurance listing me as beneficiary

Joint bills- how many should I send? each month for the past two years? We had no joint bills, but I sent information for every quarter for CC, financial statements, and back accounts

Bank/CC statements- same question, how many? just the current one or each month?

Our son's BC

Photocpoy of our DL

Lease with both of us listed

plane itinerary when we travelled

car insurance with us both listed

do those look good? All looks good.

6. Anything else I need to send in the packet? I know a photocopy of my GC is needed right? Did everyone make a cover letter? I sent in a cover letter stating it was a JOINT application and listed all the stuff that I included. I also typed the information on my personal check and signed it. Application received and 2 days later check cashed and today we received the NOA1.

Thanks so much!! Appreciate any advice!

Good luck,

Dave

Personally I think quarterly statements are fine, but monthly is okay if you want to do extra. Affidavits if you want, but they aren't necessary. Your evidence looks good to me.

8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

All USCIS want to check is i) that there are good transactions in the account (indicating that the account is operational), ii) that it is in joint names and iii) they covers the whole period. So you can send the first full one (when the account was made joint), then the latest full one and one or two in between.

Yes, a personal check drawn in USD on favoring The Department of Homeland Security on an US based Bank is good.

I disagree with this advice. They want to see that you use the account. Many people have gotten RFEs for only including a few statements. I would send quarterly statements so they can see that the account is active.

Please check again - they got RFEs for sending latest few statements (not covering the full 2 years).

Of course sending quaterly statem, ent is a good strategy.
