You do have a lot on your plate. Hope all goes well with the internship and when you go to Canada, don't do a thing just chill. With your degree you should be able to find a job quickly. Good luck

More than a lot laughing.gif Can't wait till this week is over, and then May. And I wasn't planning on doing anything in Canada except visit family and eat Canadian food :D

And I hope I find a job quickly. I only live in a town of 20k people, so not too sure on the possibilities *keeping fingers crossed*

Not yet. The Rep I spoke with said she couldn't do it over the phone and that I would have send an email addressing the problem. It does clearly state though on the DOS website that my husband should be interviewing in New Delhi based on his residence. She did acknowledge that there was an error. I'm not sure how long we will have to wait now to have a new NVC number reassigned to us. I wish I would have caught this sooner. :(

Hopefully it's changed over quickly and painlessly. Make sure you stay in contact with them at least twice a day to know how it's going.

I got a reply from NVC about my DS-3032 that is confusing.

Dear Sir/Madam:

The National Visa Center (NVC) received your inquiry regarding the immigrant visa petition: XXXXXXXXXX filed by XXXXXX on behalf of XXXX.

We entered the immigrant visa petition mentioned in your letter into our computer system and assigned a case number. The petitioner, principal applicant, and/or attorney of record will receive instructions regarding further processing of this petition.

We are unable to process your choice of address and agent this time. Please continue to notify the NVC of any change in the petitioner's or principal applicant's address.

What should I do?? Should I wait for the instructions from them or what?

The DS-3032 was denied due to them receiving it before they were ready for document intake. Seems like they got to your email super quickly. Either wait a day or two to re-send, or send it again now. Hopefully when they get to your next one, they'll be ready for it.

That's what I called for. I know the case was received just yesterday because I talked to an NVC rep last night, and I was trying to find out how long it would take for the NVC case number to be assigned. The weird thing was that I got patched through to the Congressional inquiry line. Who knew they could do that?

I actually got a call back from a very pleasant lady on the Congressional Unit of the NVC. She was calling me back as a courtesy despite the fact that she knew I was not attached to a Congressional office. We had a very nice chat. Some things of interest:

  • Yes, it is a known issue that the field offices are batching cases and sending them once a month. The Congressional Unit has been bombarded with calls from the public and from Congresspeople's offices as a result of this.
  • After a case arrives at the NVC, the timeframe until a case number is generated is now being quoted as 2 to 4 weeks. Yes, it was previously 10 to 15 business days.
  • There are actually very few reps in the Congressional Unit. My being transferred to them was definitely a fluke; it is rare to impossible for applicants and petitioners to talk to them directly.

Resend the DS-3032 after the USCitizen Petitioner receives the AOS FEE BILL in his/her email inbox.

OMG I feel so dumb. I finally see it, Thank you for all your help!! I now have an idea of everything I need to do.

You shouldn't be emailing the ds-3032. If you're in Mexico you should be doing online forms - the ds-261

Or did you just quote the wrong spot or used part of a quote that didn't apply.. Lol
