Hey Saylin,

I got a checklist email which says we should send Immigrant Visa Petition part 1 but we have already sent everything. Can it be a false checklist?unsure.gif

Sounds like a false checklist based on them reviewing and accepting your AOS package. Call up tomorrow to confirm!

Okay I am bored and I have a need to know this. Saylin someone help me understand this.

Their story:

I have a friend who's husband has a police report from one of the countries he resided in dated back in 2011. He hasn't been back to that country since.

He says he doesn't need to obtain and current one since he never went back.

Well they called NVC and the operator said no problem it will be fine you can submit an expired police report.

Like whattttt? Did I miss something since when?

I told her call again and ask for supervisor. Am I wrong?

Hmm, I'm not too sure on this. For one, if he sends an expired police certificate, he's going to need to send some proof he's NOT been to that country since then (otherwise how would they know he's not been back and committed a crime). And I'm not sure what proof one can send in for NOT going to another country. He can of course try sending the expired certificate in and see what happens. Who knows, NVC might not even notice that's expired. If they do, and request another certificate, he'll have no choice really but to go back and get a new one.

Sometimes officers tend to issue checklists for certificates, claiming they're copies and not originals/certified copies. A supervisor review should sort it out though. Just keep calling NVC once a day to see if a supervisor has reviewed the package. It should only be a few more days.

No, NVC doesn't tell you how to email documents. You simply gather the documents, like in a non-EP fashion. You then scan everything, combine it into one PDF, then email it off. You should really read my wiki on NVC processing for EP and online forms. It's linked in the first post as well as in my signature. It should clear everything up for you.

The optin email is to optin to electronic processing for countries where it's optional. Pakistan is NOT one of those eligible countries, so don't bother yourself with EP and optin emails.

The BIN is for those that need to fill out online forms. Again, Pakistan is not eligible for this either, so you don't need to worry about the BIN.

Woohoo, congrats! kicking.gif

Glad you got it figured out good.gif

How did you end up paying for the I-130 petition? Since that requires a US bank account as well if I'm not mistaken.

Woohoo, congrats!! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Yes, NVC has lately been sending out emails to those in EP about passport photos. It's not a checklist, just merely a reminder to bring those photos to the interview.

And yes, for EP, you get a case complete email. But, as with all emails, it'll take a day or two. And you'll also be notified by email when the interview date is scheduled, but there's no way to know when you'll get that.

Actually the I-130 can be paid by money order from a US Bank. I had a friend who was in Seattle for the weekend. He picked one up for me.

Both beneficiary and petitioner can call the NVC. I am the one who has done all the calling for the NVC and I am the beneficiary/visa applicant.

This is interesting. Both IV and AOS packets were received by the NVC on the 11th. However, the AOS packet was sent from the US and the IV package was sent straight from overseas, so two different envelopes. Here's the funny part: I just got off the phone with NVC and they said the IV package has been reviewed and accepted but they still haven't received the AOS package! retards.

So, hopefully, praying, by tomorrow we'll have case complete! I'd stay up to call one more time before NVC closes but it's 1 AM and I have a hair appt tomorrow morning, gotta go beautify myself! :P

Your progress gives me hope. I wish I understood their procedure better. Does the mail room just take all of the envelopes and put them on a cart and push it around the office randomly tossing packages onto peoples desks like christmas presents, or does one person handle a case from beginning to end? If our shipments were entered into the system upon arrival at least the operators would know they are in the building. I can't stop thinking about how to make this process more efficient…

THANK YOU SO MUCH SAYLIN! Alright :luv: now just we have to wait for the CASE COMPLETE email and of course for the interview to be scheduled, hopefully it won't take ages....this process is like a marathon, you can see the goal but you never know when you're gonna get there hehe  Thanks again Saylin!!

Just found out for the medical my hubby took what they consider "passport size" photos, and not what the US calls passport size. Is there any forseeable problem with that?

Funny thing I never realized that was why he sent me that size. I always resized them myself before sending in our packets....

Thank you! A little ray of hope! Is this common? At this time I so hope that's what happened and not that they've misplaced it (which seems impossible to be since everything was together) Uggh! Thought I'd be calling for case complete yesterday not this malarky!

I'm not sure how it is in Egypt but I know for the UK you can bring UK sized passport photos to the medical but we need to bring US sized ones to the interview!

I don't know what they wanted, or if it makes a difference. I am asking if anyone had any experience with this. That is what he gave them. (isA) It is ok, I hope. They did not say anything at that point. I don't know if it will be a problem later.

Either one can call! I was the applicant and the ONLY one to call NVC. My husband never made a call to operators.

Actually the I-130 can be paid by money order from a US Bank. I had a friend who was in Seattle for the weekend. He picked one up for me.

NVC can be paid the same way ;)

Except for possibly the medical in some countries, everything should be in US sizes, 2" x 2".

[..]

Yeah, it's common enough to get checklisted for something in the package. It's quite often fixed up once a supervisor reviews it.

And it's always possible for NVC to lose things. I see it every now and then.

One week past - just called the nvc. The lay told me to call back three weeks later ..?

Don't listen no0pb.gif Call back again tomorrow.

I don't know what they wanted, or if it makes a difference. I am asking if anyone had any experience with this. That is what he gave them. (isA) It is ok, I hope. They did not say anything at that point. I don't know if it will be a problem later.

Hope thats the case. They didn't say anything at the medical about it.

If they didn't say anything at the medical, then it should be okay.

Just make sure the ones for the interview are the correct US sizes.
