Hello VJ members! :)

I got today an email from NVC with a checklist, I am doing EP (electronic processing), and in the checklist states that NVC doesn't collect scanned photographs so I MUST bring 2 of them to the interview.

We just called NVC and a very nice operator said that it;s correct, I only have to make sure to bring 2 passport style photos to the interview, he said: "Your case is complete, now you should wait for an appointment to be scheduled"

Should we receive an e-mal that states our case is COMPLETE, or we are just gonna be notified until there's an appointment already scheduled?? :help:

I mean I am happy to hear: CASE COMPLETE (actually I am still in shock  hehe can't believe it!)

Should we just wait for the interview date to get scheduled?

Thanks for your help!!

You'll probably get an email that says case complete and you'll probabaly get an email when you have an interview date. At which time you should book the medical! YAY CASE COMPLETE!!!

I'm so excited tonight to get the numbers, I'm just so happy for everyone! I feel like bouncing around! kicking.gifkicking.gifblush.gifdancin5hr.gifdancin5hr.gifgood.gifgirlwerewolf2xn.gifgoofy.gif kinda like all of those at once!

You don't have to wait for it to show as PAID before you ship. You can ship now. I learned this after the fact - I wish I had sent mine in four days earlier than I did. It would have been there when the fee was cleared by the bank. Just make sure you include your barcoded cover sheet! You have to print that out and attach it to the DS-230. Your cover letter on top. I am wondering why your IV packet is so thick? I think ours was about 12 pages.

Yeah I sent the AOS packet the next morning after paying the AOS fee. This time I wanted to add additional evidence to the IV packet, that's why it's huge.

Okay I'm confused! The checklist says they reviewed our IV package and need my original birth certificate. But on the phone the woman says that a supervisor will be reviewing the package (at the request of my husband) and that they won't know if they have the original until it is reviewed?? I'm sooo confused! And freaking out a little because we definitely sent it so we are screwed if it's lost! :(

Sometimes officers tend to issue checklists for certificates, claiming they're copies and not originals/certified copies. A supervisor review should sort it out though. Just keep calling NVC once a day to see if a supervisor has reviewed the package. It should only be a few more days.

Hey Saylin!

SO it took like 9 days to get a human reply that i made a mistake which by what i read is normal. I got the IV package Invoice today so the Ds-261 went through finally. I paid the IV package fee as well. Im going to wait until i get the response back from the electronic filling as that will give me time to get everything together for the AOS package. Now, i read about electronic file but still had some questions. Once i get the email from electronic filling, will it include the instructions on how to send the AOS in? The way i understand it will work is i will fill out the forms, sign them, and scan email to the email address they provide? So fill out the PDF's print them sign them and scan and email is the process im understanding so far.

No, NVC doesn't tell you how to email documents. You simply gather the documents, like in a non-EP fashion. You then scan everything, combine it into one PDF, then email it off. You should really read my wiki on NVC processing for EP and online forms. It's linked in the first post as well as in my signature. It should clear everything up for you.

Hi Saylin and fellow VJ'ers.

I have 2 questions which hopefully you can help me on.

1) A lot of members talk about "optin". Does this pertain to only those countries on the list for electronic processing?

2) What is the "BIN #" assigned useful for?

Heres my info:

NOA1 June 25, 2012

NOA2 Feb 26, 2013

NVC received March 6, 2013

Case # and Invoice # assigned: March 20th, 2013, they took emails on the phone right away.

Thanks everyone!

The optin email is to optin to electronic processing for countries where it's optional. Pakistan is NOT one of those eligible countries, so don't bother yourself with EP and optin emails.

The BIN is for those that need to fill out online forms. Again, Pakistan is not eligible for this either, so you don't need to worry about the BIN.

35 MINS ON HOLD!!! But I got all the information! YAY!!!! Sending optin email ASAP!

Woohoo, congrats! kicking.gif

Thanks hikergirl.

I just got back from RBC - opened the accounts. Scotiabank cannot do it. RBC actually has a bank based in Georgia. They are not so optimistic about 24 hour turnaround but they said it should be fast.

Thanks for the suggestion and help.

Glad you got it figured out good.gif

How did you end up paying for the I-130 petition? Since that requires a US bank account as well if I'm not mistaken.

CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My colleague's wedding proved to be lucky for my husband and I. Our case was completed at NVC on her wedding on March 15th!!!

Woohoo, congrats!! kicking.gifkicking.gif

Yes, NVC has lately been sending out emails to those in EP about passport photos. It's not a checklist, just merely a reminder to bring those photos to the interview.

And yes, for EP, you get a case complete email. But, as with all emails, it'll take a day or two. And you'll also be notified by email when the interview date is scheduled, but there's no way to know when you'll get that.

Thanks Saylin. I thought that was the way the process was. The person that I spoke to after giving me the case and invoice number goes.. "Oh and this is your bin". So I thought if he's giving it, maybe it has a purpose. Thank you for the clarification. Much appreciated.

Okay I am bored and I have a need to know this. Saylin someone help me understand this.

Their story:

I have a friend who's husband has a police report from one of the countries he resided in dated back in 2011. He hasn't been back to that country since.

He says he doesn't need to obtain and current one since he never went back.

Well they called NVC and the operator said no problem it will be fine you can submit an expired police report.

Like whattttt? Did I miss something since when?

I told her call again and ask for supervisor. Am I wrong?
