Hi Guys. I know this is not in any way immigration related but I hope someone hear will understand. My little dog Luigi died today. He was my best friend. I am devastated. This is supposed to be a happy time. I'm getting married next month. And nothing seems to matter right now. I just feel lost right now. Sorry for being so depressing. I guess I really just need to get this out of my system and I thank you for listening.

I'm so sorry to hear about Little Luigi, it is always so sad to lose one of our four legged friends. I know how devastating a loss like that can be. Just remember how much fun you both had together and how you made each others life so wonderful and all the good times you'vs shared. Those memories will last you a life time. Good luck and sorry again for your loss. Luigi knew you were in good hands and passed on, and is now resting so you can start a new chapter in your life. RIP LUIGI (F)

I Looooooove my baby Lyn.

Thanks everyone. It felt better to get this out of my system. Luigi was an abused rescue Italian Greyhound taken from his owners because he was kicked so hard that it permanently collapsed his lung. I had him with me for 8 years. Long term albuterol helped him to breath and live a happy life. But this time pneumonia set in and he didn't recover.

You know what I'm feeling right now is anger. Complete and total rage. Against the person who hurt my Luigi. A tiny little dog and someone hurt him that bad. I am a very non-violent person - but I think I could easily do some damage to that guy if I had my hands on him. Luckily I don't know who it is. I'm a veterinary assistant by occupation. This is making me consider going into animal cruelty investigations.

I'm going to try to deal with this and move on. I leave for Morocco on March 18. I am getting married. I need to focus on that.

Thank you guys for listening and letting me vent.

Aww Abbi, I am so sorry. My beloved Akita Inu died in December. I still cry when I think about him and I miss walking in the door to see that fluffy face. He was a rescue pup too, and while he had his difficult moments (mostly eating every half-edible thing he could get his hands on), he was a great companion for me and my family. I just remember all the good times I had with him, and know he'll live on in my heart forever. He was lucky to find us because so many Akitas are never adopted and put down, and I think your lovely Greyhound was lucky to find an owner who loved him as much as you. *Hugs*

Abbi, I'm so sad for you, but happy at the same time. You were there for his passing vs. being overseas at the time. It's completely ok to grieve and let it out before your next chapter opens. just be prepared for when you arrive home and he's not there wagging his tail for you.... you'll have adjusted enough, because of the timing, that it won't be as difficult as if he passed while you were away. I'm thinking and praying for you. (F):P I like making faces at others.... it might help them to smile...

So sorry to hear about Luigi, pets are a part of the family and when they die the loss can be devastating. I have a 12 year old Corgi who can no longer walk up and down the stairs, we have to carry her. My husband has been here since October and he has become incredibly attached to her, and her to him. Hubby started a new job this morning and she was lost without him today. We are sadly aware that her days are numbered, she has been a treasured part of the family for almost 13 years, my kids grew up with her. It's so sad to think of what ours lives will be like when she is gone. Once again I am so sorry about Luigi, you took him from an abusive life and gave him a loving home, he was lucky to have you heart.gif

Awww Abbi I am so sorry for the loss of your faithful companion. God bless you for adopting him into your home and your heart, and really saving his life. I agree - he was very lucky to end up with you, where he could enjoy years of love and happiness under your caring hand.
