In jan 2012 i filed i130 for my wife due to some complications my case was denied in august 2012 instead of appealing i decided to file afresh instead of appealing because i figured it would be a losing battle and a waste of time. My second petition was approved last month while i was home visiting my wife so we got to enjoy the moment. We recently found out that we are expecting a baby and in view of the new development i have decided to speed things up a lie. I have been calling nvc but they keep telling me they received our case but still in the process of entering it into the system. Yesterday i spoke with a supervisor and she asked me to email her requesting an expedite. I crafted a letter and emailed it today and i got a reply that my request has been forwarded to the embassy. I also received a case number that starts with NRB###########. If the embassy approves my expedite my file will be forwarded directly to the embassy for processing. Has anyone gone through an expedite experience at the consulate in nairobi... Any advice on preparation in case my expedite request is magically approved... Going through the i130 application back to back has forced me to learn patience and to expect anything ...any advice ; experience appreciated...Thanks in advance

why are you asking for expedite? If it's because your wife is pregnant it will not be granted. Expedites are only granted for emergency situations, and pregnancy isn't an emergency

Don't hold your breath if your expedite is based on the pregnancy. Had it been that easy getting an expedite everyone would get pregnant!

*** Moving from waivers to CR-1 forum ***

Why was your first petition denied? We may be able to help you speed up the overall process if you tell us, but as mentioned,a normal pregnancy is not ground for expedite.

Thanks penguin....the denial was due to a screw up by my church on the marriage certificate...a correction has been made though.... As fo the expedite i know the chances are slim but the way i look at it is why not make an attempt to expedite if nothing is holding me back and makes me expend some of my frustrations from the wait....eld
