As far as I know, they are not a requirement for the original I-129F submission. They are however a requirement for the CR-1/IR-1 petition. Check the guidelines here and the I-129f instructions so see what exactly you need to send for the proof of having met in the last 2 years.

Good luck!

Oh I know, but there's not such a thing as too much proof! I just want to make sure I have a nice little stack of evidence of my relationship.

True, we were thinking of sending that too at the beginning, but we gave up on the idea :)

Hi,

We are filing the I-129f packet tomorrow. We did prepare letters from our friends and family members confirming our romantic relationship.

Our lawyer recommended us to prepare letters from your most close ones.

The template we received was like this:

**************************************

(Name)

(Address)

(Phone number)

Dear Sir or Madam:

My name is (name). I reside at (address).

I am writing this letter on behalf of my friends, A and B. I have known A since (date) and B since (date), and I have known them as a couple since (date). I first met A (explanation of how you met).

A first told me about B around (date). He/She told me that …

Since (date) I have spent time with A and B on a number of occasions. We have gone (examples of activities together such as out to dinner together, to the movies, go to their house). We always have a good time together. Whenever I spend time with A and B, I feel that they are in love, take good care of and respect each other. (any other observation of A and B as a couple). A told me about his/her engagement to B around (date).

I am very happy for their engagement and hope that they have a great life together.

I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the United States that the foregoing is true and correct.

(signature)

(name)

*****************************************

Good luck!!

Hey guys. I'm sending an email to my grandmother to ask for letters from her and my family members that know about my relationship. However, I have no idea how these should be worded. Any advice?

All of my immediate family met my fiance. Everyone loved him, so their letters were very heartfelt.

While you don't have to send in letters, it can't hurt. Especially since we didn't have any proof of the visit other than pictures and the boarding passes.
