No. The Dallas Lockbox is not a service center at all. It is NOT the Texas Service Center. the Dallas Lockbox is an intake facility. They accept or reject the petitions, cash the checks and send them to their appropriate service center, either Vermont or California. Those are the ONLY two service centers that process I-129F petitions. EVERYONE mails their petitions to the Dallas Lockbox address, as stated in the I-129F instructions. It does not matter where the petitioner is mailing the petition from.

The Texas Service Center does not process I-129F petitions. Yours is not there. Yours is actually not anywhere yet, since it was rejected for some weird reason I have never heard of before. When you send it again, it will process at either Vermont or California.

As stated already, Texas does not process I-129F petitions. The data on VJ is skewed because people keep setting the TSC as their service center in their profiles and timelines and that throws everything off. They need to put the service center that is actually processing their case. If their case number from their NOA1 receipt notice starts with EAC, then it is at Vermont(VSC). If it starts with WAC, then it is at California(CSC).

That explains why there are many fewer cases listed at the Texas Service Center, but it doesn't invalidate the analysis of the data for all the Service Centers which implies there is a slowdown in K1 processing at all the Service Centers. (Essentially, the Texas Service Center data is a random subset of visajourney users who incorrectly put down Texas Service Center as their Service Center when applying for a k1.)

California123, No K-1 stays in Texas. From the lockbox they are rerouted to either California or Vermont. There is more to the puzzle than finding that webpage.

This does not invalidate my analysis at all. The set of K1s erroneously labeled TSC is a random subset of the K1s being processed from Texas and will give a good representation of the rate at which K1s are being processed. The data is moreover consistent with the other Service Centers--something is significantly slowing the processing of K1s across the board.

The reason for this slowdown is open to speculation. The important thing is that people considering applying for K1 should think twice and consider going the CR1 route.

I never addressed the topic of the CSC and VSC processing petitions slowly. I was only trying to clear up the misconceptions that I-129F petitions are processed at the TSC. Yes, they are backlogged right now. Processing times go up and down all the time. Unfortunately, right now the times are up.

I think USCIS got confused on I-129 (for workers I think) and I-129F (with " F " - for foreign fiance/e).

That is why they gave you a classification sought.

Because when we were about to file our 1st attempt we print out I-129 and fortunately we noticed it and did not submit it.

I hope you fix everything so you two can be together.

Best of luck! GodBless

After all, as you say we are just filling out some forms for the most part. Along the way I did meet some great attorney's who I consult with frequently. (they are not all bad)

Just to say: most people who got an attorney or someone else to fill their papers and still ended up on this board were not working with good poeple. All the people who get someone very good to help them with the process, well... we mostly don't hear about them. They have answers to their questions, advice, no problems with the forms... why would they come and hang around on VJ? So, yes, there are good attorneys, we just don't hear about them so much in here. We mostly hear about the one who screwed up.

I think using your experience to provide great service at a cheaper price is a very good thing, and this is reassuring to see that some people take this very seriously (and don't have self-esteem issues and are ready to come on a forum to get answers their experience didn't give them in order to help their clients. I totally admire that good.gif)

I really hope, for you and the OP, that this case get solved. You'll tell us how it goes right?

Hello All,

I am the one who prepared the paperwork in this matter. For the record I have been preparing immigration forms for over 8 years, and I have never had an application/petition denied or rejected. I also work with an attorney who has been practicing for 35 years.

We originally filed with the Dallas lockbox as described by the beneficiary in this thread. When it was returned I reviewed the package and found nothing wrong. I assumed it was a mistake by USCIS and they didnt notice it was an I-129F and not an I-129. I was especially suspicious of a mistake as USCIS has now twice made an error on the beneficiary's birth date. (which is correct on all forms) As such, we re-submitted with some clarification. As noted, and to my surprise they sent it back again.

I had an attorney review on this file this morning, and we are stumped so to speak, we have made an appointment with info pass, as well as emailed the Dallas lockbox facility for clarification.

I am glad, and even encourage anyone of my clients to obtain any and all information possible. I pride myself on helping people. I have been researching this issue every waking minute. (leading me to this thread) As such I reject the notion that the person preparing the forms should be fired, which has been said on this board. If it is found that a mistake was made on my part and not USCIS mistake I will gladly refund all fees paid. As I said, I only want to help people, and I will go the extra mile to help resolve this issue. Money is secondary to providing a great and reliable service.

Im not sure what you mean by resubmitting with clarification, but if you mean you sent the same rejected form back with a new fancy cover letter saying I looked this over and its right please take it- Not the best move.

Theres something wrong with your initial submission. I get that you dont see it. I get that the attorney you showed it to doesnt see it. But the person in the intake dept sees it, or the computer they are feeding your petition into that is scanning it is detecting it. Sending the same defective form back with a fancy cover stressing its correct isnt going to change it.

Scrap it and start with a fresh sheet a paper. A clean check and start over.

You claim to be a professional who has filled out many forms like this- so you should know the correct boxes to check. Perhaps your form has an ink smear in the corner and the computer is detecting it and causing a misread, perhaps the person is new and poorly trained (but the chances your petition fell into their hands twice is slim)

To the OP- I dont know what you expect to get out of Infopass. Infopass is going to advise you of the proper forms to fill out. They are listed on this site as well. They are not going to be able to tell you why your packet was sent back unless you bring the packet as it was returned to you and they examine it and are able to see something physically wrong with it (a defect that would cause the computer to reject it) or an error in the way it was filled out. But if the preparer is stating it was filled out correctly and had an attorney also review it- most likely they were filled out correctly.

Which leaves you with either a physical defect on the forms or a grave USCIS error 2 times. The odds are its more likely to be a physical defect.

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

i-129f

Letter Of intent

g-325a

2x2 2 photographs

passport size photographs as well.

all the evidences

regards,

We are right at the beginning...we sent in the I-129F...it was sent back 2X within 2 wks..(different eac#'s each time) It was sent back along with all documents and money order..due to missing "Classification Sought" Should we have just bit the bullet and hired an immigration attorney...we got an immigration document preparer to do it...but he had an Immigration Attorney look at the first rejection and he was in wonder...

Hi there,

I've been following this post for a few weeks

My fiance and i are also having the same problem

Twice they've returned our application for a K1 Visa with the wording Classification Sought

We have no idea what is wrong with our paperwork, we used all the forms that were linked from the K1 Visa Flowchart

We've definitely put I-129F under Other on the G325A

My fiance rang them and they said they couldn't tell us what was wrong, as they didn't know what Classification Sought meant either...?? All they could tell us was that if a box was left blank that would throw the application back

The first time it was returned we found one small box left unticked. This time there is nothing...and no way of finding out what is wrong with our paperwork

Frustrating is not the word. This is the most stressful thing i have ever undertaken in my life (and i'm nearly 50) How can we fix it if they don't even know what it means???
