Petitions are not immediately transferred.

My petition was transferred on 1/3 whilst my filing date is mid november.

Calling now would most likely be a fruitless waste of time, unfortunately.

It took 2,5 months for us to be transferred. :(

My petition got approved very fast (37 days) so I am convinced it was transferred to my local office (Pittsburgh) which only has about 325 petitions.

However, when I directly asked the Pitt office if they are processing I-130 petitions they denied it which is untrue since I have seen other members on VJ get approval from Pitt.

I am the petitioner.

Here's a trend chart for Washington Field Office. You can view for the other offices as well. Compared with other offices, we are swamped. About 4000 total applications in Dec 12 contrasted with 250 applications at the Wichita office.

This blows. I hope I dont get transferred to Wasthington.

Also, there are lot of disgruntled Atlanta field office filers here in the forums. If you check Atlanta office trends, its similar to Washington's. I donot mean to discourage, but lets brace ourselves for a wait.

Hi im just browsing and noticed you guys discussing NBC. My local field office is in Memphis Tennessee. Can somebody tell me if they are swamped just in case NBC transferred my petition? Please help. Im so ready for my husband to come home. Thanks in advance.

Well, I just checked the chart for Newark which is my local office (don't know if my case was sent there yet). As of Dec. 2012 they have 8,014 I-130s pending and 1,092 approved. Is it possible to find any hope in this process?

here is Memphis which looks a little swamped:

http://dashboard.uscis.gov/index.cfm?formtype=4&office=44&charttype=1

before you do any thinking about it, call and find out first.. and then you can always go visit your file and see how they are doing with it.. that was quite successful for me especially since I am unable to see the case online

good luck!

I received my NOA1 email today. My I-130 is routed to National Benefits Center. I will assume it will go to the closest field office to me which would be Dallas? Is this correct? I am so excited! We also are going to file K3 just to see if we get lucky and she can come over early. My wife is in Russia.

You show your local field office being Houston down there under your avatar. If that's so, your case will be transferred there after it is seen by NBC, and transferred back to be reviewed briefly before it is sent on to the NVC.

K3 will not help you one bit and will just cost you money.

I just returned home from my Infopass appointment at the Dallas Field Office and I feel like it was a good one. My case is on the I-130 unit's supervisor's desk to be worked by her. It was there already which is very rare according to the IO that was assisting me. She said that the supervisor usually doesn't work cases. My IO spoke with the supervisor who said if there's nothing wrong with my case it should leave her desk soon. The IO couldn't offically say how long, soon would take, but she suggested that I start checking with the NVC and also for online updates in about a week. She also said if I didn't have an update by four weeks that I needed to call the 800 number or come back on another Infopass appointment. I'm making an appointment now to be sure that I have it near the four week point just in case.

Has anyone figured out yet what the official processing times are for the NBC? When can we start making service requests through the website?

Thanks! :)

IR1/CR1 Visa - We are using a lawyer!

Embassy: Montreal, Canada

USCIS

22 Jan 2013 -- packageSent
31 Jan 2013 -- NOA1 from NBC

6 Mar 2013 -- I130 transferred to Orlando local field office (which started the whole nightmare)

Mar 2013 to October 2013 no one would tell us where our case was or what was happening. I suspected the whole time it was just sitting in a corner somewhere in the Orlando field office. I was pretty much right.

October 2013 - get congressman involved. Congressman asks USCIS repeatedly about our case but they won't even tell them anything.

31 Jan 2014- finally get NOA2!!!! (we think the nightmare is over!)

NVC

Our case was not sent from the Orlando field office as it should have been. The nightmare continues. We kept calling NVC and asking if they received our case, and they always said "NO" and that we had to wait 90 business days for it to be received. We called USCIS during this time and they kept telling us it had been sent. After the 90 days of agonizing frustration, NVC then started telling us we had to wait 120 business days. I got our congressman involved again, and they told the congressman it was sitting at the Orlando office this whole time (just as I thought it was!).

22 Apr 2014 -- NVC received
16 May 2014 -- NVC case number assigned
24 May 2014 -- AoS and IV bills paid

28 May 2014 -- Sent AoS and IV Packages

6 June 2014 -- documents scanned

18 July 2014 -- false checklist from NVC

21 July 2014 -- Case complete

28 July 2014 -- receive case complete email from NV

30 July 2014 -- interview booked! September 11 here I come!

Embassy
04 Sept 2014 -- Medical
11 Sept 2014 -- Interview - APPROVED!!!!
15 Sept 2014 -- Package arrived at Loomis location!!!

My approval was about a week after I found out it was being worked on at the local office. I doubt you will hit the 4 weeks though.

Here is one word of warning.. after five weeks my case was not at the nvc, so I took another infopass. I learned that the file was sent to the nrc!!.. turns out that national records center is a tagged filing location.. at the friggin local office.. so there it sits even though the noa2 said it was sent to nvc. the officer was nice enough saying she would personally track it down to see what could be done to get it moving.

good luck!
