Leaving after naturalisation?

We're thinking quite far ahead here, but best to plan, right?

Husband became a permanent resident in February 2012 based on our marriage. We will file to remove conditions when it's time, and in February 2015 will file for naturalisation (this is the correct time, yes -- 3 years from when he became a permanent resident)

Once he goes through the nautralisation process, interview, and all that -- nothing is binding us to stay in the US, correct? (We are contemplating moving back to the UK, but want to ensure that he doesn't need to spend a certain amount of time per year in the US or anything of the kind..)

As the Romans used to say: "Semel US Citizen, semper US Citizen". Once he becomes a US Citizen, gets his passport and all, he is good to go for as long as he wants.

And do keep up with the changes in immigration to the UK. The new version (last summer) requires him to be making a certain level of income in the UK before he can bring you. No co-sponsors. If we have at least £62,500 savings in an accessible bank account where the funds have been for some time, then this substitutes for "income."

Totally recognize that this isn't the forum for people moving the other way...but you were definitely super helpful when we made the move this way. :-)

I really don't remember the details because we never intend move to the UK. My British/American husband doesnt even want to go visit. I briefly read about it when the VJ thread started but don't follow it. I do recall the cash savings amount now that you bring it up, and thinking we could easily move under the new laws on that basis.

So the UK is getting just as bad as the US, bring us your rich, talented, or gifted people. Hell, don't even care if you came here to knock over the World Trade Towers, as long as you have plenty of money.

Canada is getting just as bad. wouldn't mind relocating to Vancouver, years ago, could just go there, as well as Canadians coming down here, none of that passport or immigration #######.

We are doing the same thing. We figured we'd put so much time and money into the process so far, we'd just complete it and never have to worry about it again. But as soon as we are done with naturalization, we are starting the process to the UK. My husband misses it terribly and there would be better job prospects for me.

The UK process is AWFUL though. They are much worse than the US now.
