This whole IMBRA thing started because a few guys petioned for some women overseas and then the guys ended up killing them. It is merely to let the beneficiary know the chances of getting their head lopped off and buried in the backyard upon arrival to the U.S.

Well, there were other kinds of abuse of concern including pedophiles bringing fiancee's with small children that got abused and others involved in human trafficking but IMBRA does not apply when filing an I-130.

I used rapid visa too, I have 3 dui's as well. All I did was include proof that I served my punishment and I also included a letter explaining what happened and how I had tried to better my life after my last dui occurred. Just be honest, you screwed up but it doesn't seem either way that they pay much attention.

You didn't need to do any of that for a spouse visa case. Sounds like the service you hired is a cookie cutter deal, as they sure don't seem to know the difference between what is required for an I-129F and an I-130.

Just on the off chance, I would make sure that Rapid Visa is only filing a CR-1, and not also filing a K-3 (it is unlikely they are that far behind the times, though).

I talked to a co-owner at Rapid Visa today and he said that the USCIS sometimes asks for criminal records for CR-1 petitions. He said it is a 50/50 chance. Has anybody on this forum that had filed a CR-1 petition ever received a RFE for their criminal records???

I've never heard of it for DWIs, and I've been on this site since 2007. I guess anything is possible. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket tonight.

Only in the rare case where the petitioner has an Adam Walsh Act conviction. Really, I've NEVER heard of this happening in any other case and even in the AWA cases, it's usually after a visa denial.

However, if you follow-up your I-130 with an I-129F for a spouse, and have to answer yes to any of the IMBRA questions, you ARE in the same boat as a K1 petitioner. Perhaps he's thinking of the long obsolete K3 visa process. Either way, egg meet face.

I can say that the Rapid Visa website does take some of the headache out of the process. In my opinion it was worth the $400. They have been helpful. I talked to a friend at work last night and he told me he had 4 DUIs and filed a CR-1 in 2010 and he never included conviction records nor was asked about them and he was approved in 4 months. Pushbrk thank you for your input.
