I'll be honest, I've never read an ROC interview with that many questions unless it was a Stoke-like interview where you had red flags in your file. Sounds like you overcame them though so that's great!

I just want to say as well, being on your house isn't a requirement, and the Quit Claim document is the wrong document. I would destroy it and go and speak with an attorney about adding your husbands name to the deed, if that's what you need, but it's not required. We bought our house AFTER we were married and I'm not on the deed or the mortgage. You just need to gift the house to him in your Will, again if that is your intent, no need to go through the expensive process to change the deed. And if you divorce he could try and get half of it (or at least half of the equity of it gained since marriage) so he's covered too (in case he was wondering).

Yeah, I'm not sure what triggered the interview, but I'm sure it was something that flagged them. I believe because of not having any kind of lease or having him on the mortgage or the deed of the house at the time of filing ROC is probably why I got the RFE.

I know the quitclaim deed wasn't the best one to use but it was the quickest one I could have gotten done. As far as gifting the house to my husband in the will, he is named for everything in my will. But, what was told to me was if the house is ever used as collateral for any kind of debt that isn't paid off by the time of death, the debtors can take the house as payment regardless who it is willed to. The IO said that as far as documents goes, it looked like we had everything covered. Now it's just the matter of her believing that it's a bona fide marriage. Hopefully watching how we interact with each other will prove that. I think that is why she made so many copies of the pictures that we had with us.
