Where is our NOA1?

I was wondering if I could get some input on our issue.

It has been 9 days now since we sent out our petition. We didn't use express mail but I think there is a signature required for when it gets there. I read somewhere that the signature thing might be a problem so I told my SO to not send it via express but he forgot about not requesting the signature (no I regret we didn't sent it via express but oh well)

We filled out a form for email and text notification but so far we haven't received anything. I'm very worried that our whole package will be sent back to us because of that

So I don't know if I'm just overly worried and we might still be within a normal time frame? I would really appreciate some input.

A lot of times they do not use the form or it gets disregarded and you get no email or text.

NOA1 can take 2-3 weeks in the mail sometimes to arrive. Relax no need to worry.

If there is a signature request on the package then they will leave a note and the USCIS person will go pick it up and sign for it.

My experience (limited as it may be) could help ease the OP's mind a little.

I did send my package Express to the address in the paperwork which they said to send express packages and it was signed for as received the next day. I sent it on February 5th and they received it on February 6. I also sent in the form for email notification and have not received anything from them as of yet, but this morning, there was notification to my bank that the check was cashed. I still haven't received my NOA1 yet either, but knowing that I sent it express and they are just cashing my check today (Monday February 11), 5 full days after they actually received the I-129F package in Texas using Express mail. If yours was sent standard, I'd give the post office 4 or 5 days for delivery then another 5 days for them to process in the paperwork, so I wouldn't be concerned for a minimum of 2 weeks.

I do have a question though on my own behalf...

As I stated above, I received notification that they cashed my check through my online account this morning (Monday). The bank doesn't have the scanned copy currently available online, so I'm going to wait until tomorrow and see if it just takes a little time between the notification and the loading of the check image, or if they don't load electronically scanned checks. Either way, I was wondering if it means that the NOA1 is imminent since they cashed the check and if I am basically now in the queue for the NOA2, or if there is still a chance it would be sent back to be re-filed for some silly paperwork error?

My Understanding is, if you sent it as a check, they turn it into an electronic debit and just use the numbers to debit your account. then destroy the check. So there won't be a copy of the check. Please correct me if I am wrong, but that is what i have gathered from reading the forms.

That was my understanding, that they scan the check electronically, but I wasn't sure if the bank actually gets a scanned copy that would then be posted to my account or what. I'd read on here that people say that they put the case number on the back of the payment and that people can see that through their bank accounts, so I assumed that it was scanned and sent in and then loaded into the bank account similar to how a check is scanned in and visible on my online account. I will reply here to this thread though with whatever I find out. If I don't see a scanned copy by tomorrow I'll call the bank and see if they actually have the image or how that works.

Well, it looks like I don't have to wait til tomorrow to bug the bank for the image of the check (if they even have it or not), because I just got the email stating my case number and the fact that it was being sent to the California Service Center (which is where I expected it to go). Now the waiting TRULY begins
