Received USCIS Acceptance Confirmation

My fiance (USC) received this email from USCIS January 9th, 2013:

Your case has been accepted and routed to the USCIS Vermont Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number EAC..... etc.

He hasn't gotten the official receipt notice yet until now. Is this normal? By the way, he's from the military and put his FPO address since he doesn't have a permanent address. He's stationed in Japan but currently in California for his one month training. But he'll be back to Japan after that.

What can you suggest?

Best thing to do then is to keep an eye on the USCIS website for your status updates. If it takes a month to send the I-797 to his FPO, the internet will be more reliable. I think two weeks after you receive your next NOA I-797 (NOA2), you should call the NVC and check their status. Another option is to change his address with USCIS to his parent's house or other form of permenent residence he has in the United States. I had a PO Box on mine, but I don't know how the investigators feel about that. Maybe that's why my case was delayed so long?

Also, follow the timeline material on here so that you know what the next steps are. Until you receive the NOA2, you pretty much can't do anything. You do not need the physical paper copy to proceed to the next steps, from our experience. Although, it is nice to have by the time the interview comes along. In that case, even if it takes a month to arrive, it's not a big deal because the interview will likely be more than one month of waiting after the NOA2.

Awesome reply! Thank you soo much that was indeed very helpful. From here, I need to inform him then that he can change his address to his permanent address.

And yeah, it's been more than a month now since he hasn't gotten the official Receipt Notice yet via mail. I'll inform him about this, maybe it's better to call

I checked the status here's what is says:

On January 10, 2013, your Alien Registration Number was changed relating to your I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E). Please check our website at www.uscis.gov for further updates on your case. Please wait until the end of normal processing time before calling customer service at 1-800-375-5283 for live assistance.

What do you mean by this?
