So I drove down to the Oxnard ASC and sure enough, they let me walk-in for my biometrics! I was in & out in less than 30 minutes! Now the clock starts for the interview email/text & letter to arrive.

Please update to: Biometrics on 08/26/13.

I am glad everything went well. If your local office is the LA office, you are in for a long wait.

I had to go to an INFOpass because the interview took a long time to get scheduled.

I am assuming that the LA office gets thousands of apps per month. As you have already experienced, the best thing to do is the INFOpass in case it takes too long.

Thanks Daniel. You were totally right about the InfoPass. It wasn't until after going down to Chatsworth and meeting with an Immigration Officer that I finally got things moving after waiting four months from the time USCIS processed my N400. The funny this is I just received the following email from them yesterday,"On August 28, 2013, your N400, APPLICATION FOR NATURALIZATION was placed in line for interview scheduling." So hopefully I'll be scheduled for the interview in the next couple of weeks!

Wow, I can't believe it took so long! Do you have any idea what may have triggered the delay, other than institutional incompetency? Looking at the table, I assumed you were long done with the process and simply didn't update your status. I hope your case goes smoothly and swiftly from now on.

I'm going to be calling USCIS on Monday, the 90th day since I was put in line for interview. Not holding my breath.

Otta- I'm sorry to hear about your delays! I have no idea what caused ours but once I contacted our senator the ball got rolling very quickly. Not one but two Bio dates, an RFE (traffic citation), placed in line and finally interview letter mailed all in just a couple of weeks. I hope things start to look up for you soon!

I did my Oath this morning. I am a USC now!! I also went to the passport agency to apply for passport as I am treating myself a trip to Brazil this Friday. Thank you for all the helps VJ folks.

Otta- I'm sorry to hear about your delays! I have no idea what caused ours but once I contacted our senator the ball got rolling very quickly. Not one but two Bio dates, an RFE (traffic citation), placed in line and finally interview letter mailed all in just a couple of weeks. I hope things start to look up for you soon!

Yes it wasn't really an RFE but one of those yellow notices that says you should bring additional documents to your interview. In our case, yes for 16 I thought better safe than sorry and disclosed a speeding ticket for which he received a $160 fine. He's just going to bring his copy of the citation and the receipt from payment.

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! Now, just hoping that USPS manages to deliver the interview notice. After ROC, USPS decided to return my 10-year green card to sender without a delivery attempt :-)


Hope I'm adding the right date; "scheduled for interview" date should be the same as "interview letter" date, right? I'll correct it if the letter comes with another date,I guess.

Can't wait for my shredding party!
