I feel like we can actually eliminate the Check Cashed and Sent Date columns and lose no useful information. But reasonable people may disagree

But I am not too worried yet, since I am still within my 90 day early period.

I keep checking the USCIS website just incase it updates but I don't get an email or text but nada..still says..On May 7th we sent you notice for bio...

I can't believe someone in June is already placed in line for interview but of course their eligibility date was in 2010.

Atlanta currently processing time is 6.9 months so I have to learn to be patient.

But I am not too worried yet, since I am still within my 90 day early period.

I totally agree that the Sent column isn't required (it really should be "Received by USCIS").. But some people like seeing how long it takes USCIS to process the NOA1. Personally I didn't send it priority so it looks like mine took longer than it actually took whereas some people sent express/next day.

I keep a separate (more detailed) timeline in the "About me" section of my profile. It includes all information about my processing so people can really see how the processing looks.

Honestly I don't think sent or check cashed are important because they don't affect processing times. Acceptance (NOA1) is where it should start.

The in-line tells you that you should get an interview in 90 days, so you know that you're nearing the end. Before you get the in-line notification you're not even in the scheduling queue... you're just.. doing nothing. The interview letter column tells you how long it took to get the interview letter sent from the time you were "in-line". Like I said, it CAN take up to 90 days so it's good to see that in most people's cases it doesn't take that long. Then of course it's also interesting to see how far out the interview is from the date the interview letter was sent (a month, 2 months etc).

For example, have a look at Msimples timeline. She is also at Des Moines. Her eligibility was before me, she filed after me. She got her in-line first, but I got my letter first AND my interview is before hers. I find the differences interesting.

We arrived at the Indianapolis office at approx 0930. There were quite a few people waiting when we got there. Went through the usual bag check etc. Checked in at the window where the lady took my interview letter. Sat and waited. Got called right at 1000 which is my appt time. Officer went through the application with me, name, address, etc. After this was done, he said test time. I gave a sigh and he said dont worry it will be easy.

He only asked me 5 questions, had me read, Abraham Lincoln was the president during the civil war and then had me write the same. He had me sign the papers to change my name, sign another paper that showed all my info is correct. Then handed me a sheet that said congratulations I passed and recommended for approval. Told me to wait for the oath letter in the mail and do I have any questions for him? I said did I pass? He said yes, smiled and said I gave you the sheet of paper right? I thought to myself DUH! lol

I lugged in with me a huge bag full of my original docs submitted for the N400. I told him I wasnt sure what to bring so I brought everything. He laughed and said thats good, that they prefer more than less because it makes it easier for them. He walked me out and wished me a nice day.

WHEW!!!! Now its just a waiting game for the oath letter...... =)

Congrats!! thanks for the review It also helps me to read the questions that were asked so I can "mini-test" myself. I'm going to ask my husband to test me at some point because I think it's different reading the questions as opposed to them being asked.

Hi,

I did not file on the 3 year rule. I filed under the five year rule, so there were no husband questions. About the birth certificate I think the copy should be fine, unless you can somehow obtain an original before your interview, but I would not stress it too much. They might already have all that information and not ask you for it anyways. I went to the interview prepared with a bulk of documents and the IO did not ask for any at all. She had documents from the time I came into this country.

When I was looking up Des Moines i saw about 5 months just to get approval (that's listed online too) yet my interview will take me to just over 3 months months so you never know! I'm hoping to Oath in August (earlier is always better but only if it's nearby, i don't enjoy the 3 hour drives!) which would be 4 months

I'm hoping we both can do out Oath Ceremony on Aug 9th here in Davenport. Then I'd finally get to meet you!!! But I think it's at the courthouse and as far as I know, no cameras are allowed...bummer!! Won't be able to capture my Kodak moment!!!

That would be awesome!... but no cameras? I might pop by the courthouse on the way home from work tomorrow (it's not too far out of my way) and ask about it or maybe just call. I know normally it wouldn't be allowed but maybe there's an exception for the ceremonies... otherwise standing outside taking pics isn't TOO bad I s'pose

Guys... i had very bitter experience with my Interview Yesterday... as follows

I arrived at the buffalo Office at approx. 09.10 a.m. since my Appointment was at 9.40 a.m. Then I had to wait till 10.50 a.m., coz they are 3 IO are working and they pick their PPL before they start their day... one IO was very fast they are ppl came after me and went home before they called my name..

Officer went through the application with me, name, address, any citations for speeding... then she asked me about my visit to India for 1 year 6 months, then I explained the situation y I had to leave the country...I think I am confusing u guys...

this is what happened with my green card...I got my green card in Aug. 2004 but I left the country for 1 year 6 months in mid-2007 and came back march 2009 since my dad was not well... there is a Requirement that u have to have 5 years continues residence in USA before u apply u r Citizenship… but I have stayed more than year out of the country and Absences from the US for one year or more: Generally, an absence of one year or more “shall” disrupt continuity of residence, but fortunately as per the USCIS Website its say

“For period in excess of one (1) year. Unless an applicant applies for benefits in accordance with § 316.5(d) , absences from the United States for a continuous period of one (1) year or more during the period for which continuous residence is required under § 316.2(a)(3) and (a)(5) shall disrupt the continuity of the applicant's residence. An applicant described in this paragraph who must satisfy a five-year statutory residence period may file an application for naturalization four years and one day following the date of the applicant's return to the United States to resume permanent residence. An applicant described in this paragraph who must satisfy a three-year statutory residence period may file an application for naturalization two years and one day following the da te of the applicant's return to the United States to resume permanent residence. (Amended 9/24/93; 58 FR 49913) “

I have returned to US march 2009, that means I am eligible to apply my Citizenship…. So I try to explain her but she was no mood to listen what u say… she was so dumb… she doesn’t no any laws with USCIS and she has been working with USCIS since 27 years…. She said she is going to deny my application then I requested her to check their website…guys I am not lying she doesn’t know how to operate computer too… any way I asked if I can open the page and show it to her… she refused for that… she was keep on saying that they is no rule that I can apply after 4 years 1 day once I disrupted my continuous residency… then I tried all my ways to convince her but she was not… then I shut my mouth for 5 minutes then she looked over other papers and asked me if I am ready for interview…

She explained me about English and civics test… even there she screw me up she said I will ask 9 questions out of 9 I have answer 6…. I was so frustrated coz I got IO doesn’t know anything about what she has been doing for 27 years….lol…. unbelievable

Any way I was passed English and Civics Test then she has given me the N-652 its says that “Decision Cannot be Made yet after the interview” , I was very unlucky, I don’t know what will happen if they deny my application I am going to court ….what u guys say…

But there are ppl before me finished their interviews in 10 min… mine was coz of the DUMB IO … interview is very easy ….
