Hello!

My lawyer just withdrawn from my case, my husband already had his interview in November, 2012. It will be three months in February, 2013, that he is in AP! Do I send in the additional documents to the consulate that I have collected? Or do I wait for the embassy to finish their administrative processing?

Thanks in advance!

After the interview, did the consul instruct your husband to submit additional documents?

Yes, he was handed a green paper called 221(g) but none of the boxes were checked. And when my husband asked if they wanted additional documents, then they told him to wait until there processing was done! But they didnt give any time limit. So, what to do now? On the 12th of Feb it will be three months. And we havnt heard anything from the Consulate. I contacted the local congressmen and they did inquiry twice in the last two months and every time the consulate gave the same reply that his case is still processing.

His case is at Dhaka Consulate in Bangladesh.

Thank you all for your help!

AP can take months so you just have to wait to hear from the embassy. At this point you don't need a lawyer your congressman's office can get updates on your case and you don't have to pay for their services.

ya, AP can take months.

I suggest, once a week, call into the DoS Hotline and ask for casefile status.

At some point, the casefile status will change, and you'll learn of it, from that telephone call.

After he was given the green paper on his interview day, I gathered some more additional documents to send to the Consulate but my lawyer emailed them as attachments and the Consulate said in their replyto the inquiry that they are not allowed to open the attachments!! So, is it too late for me too send in those additional, even though they really didnt ask for them??

And is the congressmen and DOS the same?

Thank you for your help.
