Questions on next steps. I went through all the guides and just want to make sure that my plan of action is correct

1) Got my NOA2 approved and got the notice on 02/04/2012. As per Saylin's recommendation and other notes, I will wait for a full week and start calling NVC to check if my case has arrived and get the Case Number. In between I am working on the PCC for my wife, tax transcripts and other documents.

2) Once I get my case number, do we give them the email addresses so that they can send the choice of agent form and fee bill right away (on the same call) or do we call them back? In fact is it the same number or a different number we have to call to do this process?

3) Once they accept the DS-3032 form by email, they send a copy of the DS-3032 electronically by email (since we gave it above). I am confused about this because in the FAQ and links in first couple of posts, it says "NVC Generates and sends a copy of the DS-3032 (Choice of Agent form) to the petitioner and Sends the original DS-3032 (Choice of Agent form) to the beneficiary in the foreign country"

And somewhere around this time, I tell them I am going to be the agent and not the lawyer?

4) Then NVC invoices the I-864 and the only thing I need is the NVC Case Number and the INN . The rest of NVC process seems easy to follow - just want to make sure that this is where I send all the financial support documents like tax transcripts, bank letter, pay stubs, letter of employment etc.

5) As for the DS track, once the DS-3032 is completed then we get the IV Fee and pay it. And when sending the DS230 is when we send all the original documents.

And when both the tracks are ready then it goes to the final step - interview date setup and documents sent to the consulate.

Last question - sorry friends - too many questions - based on my lawyers recommendation, we put Abu Dhabi as the consulate (Iranians have to choose among a set of consulates) - but is there a time when you can request for a different consulate (since my wife is in New Delhi it would be much better for us to go there).

Hey Guys,

I sent in my Choice of agent form on Jan 25th but havent heard anything. Do you think I should wait a little longer or send out another email?

Also - how long till they usually accept the AOS? Sent that in on Jan 29th.

Thanks.

Any thoughts on this?

1. Exactly good.gif

2. You can give the email addresses on the same call as getting the case number and IIN. No need to request anything as it'll be sent automatically.

3. They send a copy of the DS-3032 INDEPENDENTLY of you sending the DS-3032 email. And they only send out one DS-3032. If you gave email addresses when the case number was assigned, then it's sent by email. If no email addresses were given, then it's snail mailed to the beneficiary. It's either or, not both.

Yes, if you want to be agent and not your lawyer, you'll need to tell them on the same call where you get your case number. Follow their instructions.

4. Yup. A few days after the case number is assigned, the AOS bill will be invoiced.

5. Yup again.

For a consulate/embassy change, you'll need to ask an operator once a case number has been assigned. They'll explain what to do. If one operator doesn't know, then just call up again. Some operators aren't that knowledgeable headbonk.gif

Any thoughts on this?

Thought I replied to this...

Since it's been almost 2 weeks, send another one. Follow the hint in the FAQ (post 2) to get it seen asap ;)

For packages, takes anywhere from 1-2 weeks. You have been calling once a day to inquire about it, right?

If our cases follow the same timing, your ds3032 should be approved today. I would definitely call them first to check.

Hi, I got my approval last January 29,2013. How would I know If NVC got my documents now. Do I need to call or wait for another week, All my documents were completed Im just waiting NVC to send IIN number.

It's been over a week since your approval, so get to calling NVC! They should have your papers by now, and although they probably haven't generated your numbers yet you might get lucky!
