I filed my papers for I-129f with this guy that has processed a lot of peoples cases. Only thing is its been over a month now and USCIS has not received anything. I think he may have just took my money because I paid him $340 in cash and another $300.00 also in cash for his services.. It's either that or he just didn't send my papers in yet.... gahh I'm so frustrated. The person who processed these papers told me he brought his wife here in 3 months flat. I feel like at this rate I won't be able to see my girl until fall or maybe even next year :crying: I just hope I receive some kind of notice soon to know at least they are starting to process my case. Hoping for the best..

Sorry. There is no way anyone can get your fiance here in "3 months flat". Did you try contacting this person?

Also, it says in your profile that you had a wedding ceremony : " We spent month together and did the traditional ceremony for a wedding. The wedding ceremony was held at her house on 11/19/12."

You shouldn't have filed for a K1 and instead filed the I-130 for a CR1, no?

Maybe this scammer saved you some time getting denied for the K1.

3/2/18  E-filed N-400 under 5 year rule

3/26/18 Biometrics

7/2019-12/2019 (Yes, 16- 21 months) Estimated time to interview MSP office.

Good point. The I-129F would have been declined anyways, assuming they didn't submit the I-130 with it.

Some countrys have cultures that require a wedding ceremony be held before a marriage happens.

Some embassys ask to see this and if its not been done people are denied K-1 visas because they did not follow the norm cultural practice.

As long as the OP is clear that it is a cultural wedding ceremony and they did not marry they should be fine. If it is not the norm or they wore white wedding type attire and everything looks very wedding like then it can pose a red flag and make things difficult for the OP.

Good to know. I guess we should ask for clarification. Is the beneficiary and the spouse legally married?

Though, it still seems that the guy took their money without submitting any paperwork. And he did imply a guarantee of fast processing times (which you're never supposed to do if you're legit), even if he only told the OP that it was his case. He should have warned the OP that not all cases are that simple or quick. Still sounds fishy to me.

Oh yes, the part about the guy taking money and all this - it is very fishy - and your correct about the processing times issue.

It is often best to ask clarification on the ceremony things! Its quite possible the OP does require a K-1 visa and is following the correct path currently - if they do make to the embassy and do get tripped up because it was too wedding like then yes they would have to marry and start all over with an I-130 spousal application - which would be very unfortunate.

OP does not state if they have been in contact or trying to contact the guy who filed this and took his money, that would be one of the first things to do - get in contact and find out what the heck is going on! specially after giving so much cash to someone. If he cannot get in contact or the person appears to be ignoring or "delaying" giving answers its a good bet he/they took the money and threw away the papers. Which would be a very sad turn of events for the OP.

Did you ask the guy what happened? USCIS does not accept cash, so at the very least she should have proof of a cashed check to show you...

why not go to the guy , ask for a copy of the casefile, ask for a copy of the postal receipts, ask for the tracking number, and ask for the I-797C formletter that shows the receipt # with USCIS?

Do that, report back.

Good advice. I am guessing the snag will come with the bolded step in the process.

Three months flat? You've been conned or suckered.

I promise you it will take LONGER than 9 months, maybe 14 months for some.

Do not shell out more money to that conniving fella.

Do your homework FIRST before doing anything.

KNOW that the VISA process is really an EASY one, this I tell you. The most difficult part is learning how to argue with your spouse, living together, learning about spouse quirky habits, likes and dislikes, dealing with prejudice, and all that. RISING above it all is - LOVE along with hard work.

Good luck.
