Request to expedite!!! Please Help!

HI guys , I got married and pregnant September16,12 in Jordan. Came back to US alone applied for I-130 October 20,12 got NOA1 5 days later applied for I-129F November 9,12 received NOA1 November15.

Called USCIS December 28,12 asking for an expedite request , the lady did it over the phone, under Humanitarian reasons..I received a letter January 9,13 saying :"We received your request to expedite the decision on your application. Your case is currently under review. You will receive a decision or notice of further action shortly. "

How long does shortly means ?! Im confused and scared my husband will not be here for my delivery ... Any advice or similar cases please I would like to hear from you !

Give it 2-4 weeks.

May I ask what your humanitarian reasons were? If it was your pregnancy you might wanna prepre yourself for a denial.

You posted in K1 forum, but say you are married. And you sent in both I-130 and I129f???

k1 application does not apply to your case..

They don't approve the pregnancy expedites unless you have a high risk pregnancy and even then it is iffy. They seem to be rather random with the expedites on other grounds.

I want you to prepare yourself for a denial and also prepare yourself to have the baby abroad. While not as common, women occasionally get put under Administrative Processing from certain countries.

Read up on the CRBA for the baby if the USC meets the residency requirments

Also, no more K-3, read up on the Cr1 process

Correct. If it's not a documented high risk pregnancy, prepare for a denial.

hope that additional request does not hold up the caase a bit at USCIS sinc it is not standard grounds for an expedite. meanwhile while waiting for their response, read up on ur next steps here after aproval so you start getting ready whatever you need for the NVC stage. if you are proactive and ready to go( hoping ur approval comes soon), you cld spend only one month at NVC(if no RFE) and hence have a case complete b4 ur due date...dont knw how long interview scheduling takes for Jordan though.

To be honest, lots of women give birth without their husbands (or significant other, if they have one) being present and while you can try for an expedite, don't bank on it.

I did it and my ex-husband was in the same town with me... he was just too busy cheating on me to find time to join me at the hospital

I can't imagine they'd expedite a request based only on being pregnant. But it is still worth asking, you can't know either way without asking.

Actually, I just got a similar e-mail from them and I was wondering what it meant too, but I think the consensus was it was just a stock response. Mine said 30 days though

well I tried and nothing happened..I'm due in 5 weeks and it's taken me months to get used to the idea that my husband won't be there but you do get used to the idea believe me..

I also applied for the i-130 end of july and have gotten no response so you know jordan and palestine probably in the same extra slow situation

This is not a case of jordan or palestine.

This sounds more like you are at the VSC.

And then if it said Vermont Service Center.

That would be the reason.
