We were allowed to bring our cell phones through security. I'd probably turn it off, or at least silence it during the interview.

Ha, the only way to remove that cell phone from my stepdaughter's hand is surgically. In Milwaukee for biometrics, had to remove it surgically and carry it back to our car. At St. Paul they let her bring it in, but told her quite strongly to leave it off.

Guess it all depends on the mood of those guards.

Certainly recall our first visit to a field office, when my wife and stepdaughter saw all those armed guards, were positivity frightened to death. Often wondered about that myself, are these really a terrorist threat? Or are they concerned somebody will walk off with an old beat up folding chair?

With one visit to the Milwaukee office, wife and I were the only ones there, with six guards watching our every move. Just told my wife to move slow.

Even our SS office has an armed guard now, when I walked in, told me to take a number and sit down. Like I couldn't read that big sign, take a number and sit down. Just replied, "yes sir".

In Fort Smith you were allowed them in the waitingroom, but had to turn off once you go in for interview.

there were about 150 people there when i arrived, two seating areas by door 1 and door 2 of plastic seats. i waited about 45 min before they called my name. went in, interview was easy, test was easy, they didn't even ask to see most of the stuff i brought.

they give you the oath letter on the same day, so after my interview was done i sat around waiting for two hours until they called my name and gave me the letter. oath is in a week. other people earlier in the day have their oaths as soon as three days after their interview.

Thank You so much for your valuable information. Thank you for your time. Just few more questions. How long the interview session per applicant was? My appointment at the Citizenship is at 9.05 AM. Did they ask for passport pictures, I already submitted with N-400 application. Do I need them again. I already submitted original IRS tax return transcript issued by IRS. I have copies of them. For my interview, should I have to bring new original from IRS or copies would be fine. In the instruction sheet they are talking about RS Form 1722, what is this. From where I can get that . Are these same as Tax Return Transcript.

it was probably 20min for my interview but it entirely depends on the applicant, some are longer. they already had my passport pictures in my file. they also already had the irs transcripts in my file and they said that was fine.
