It isn't cynicism, not really, I was remarking on the way he brings up the fact his previous fiancee and her family are suffering, almost revelling in it, and then finished off his statement with the "oh but I wish her well" comment. Seems a bit odd really for someone who is has no residual bitterness.

What's the matter with a little bit of sarcasm here and there?

Sometimes things don't necessarily work out as we plan, and it was evidently your destiny not to be with your ex-fiancee. The great part is that you did not sulk and got right back in the game. Whatever happened to you it's in the past and there it will stay. So I say do the dahamn thing and I wish you much success and happiness.

Cheers!!!

... In point of fact, I suppose I would like to make the distinction that the two (bitterness and wishing another well) are not necessarily mutually exclusive.

Well, bitterness or whatever, don't you think the phrase 'suffering their fate' is just a bit....well.....creepy?

Well, goiod luck then.

I wish you a great time there and happy new year and merry christmas

:D

I have met the most wonderful and loving girl. I will be going to Cebu 12/20/06 through 1/3/07 to be with her. I will get all docs done then. As I have learned what is needed through my past expirences. So this will be my first time in the Philippines for the xmas season and I will be with a girl that will honnor me while I am there.

I am happy again!

Oh yes the last girl and family is suffering their fate for what they did to me, but I still wish them well and do not hold any anger to them.

Thanks to all of the good and caring people on this board becasue you can and do give support to us who do need it.

Lot's of great places to visit in Cebu if you are Catholic. I think I went to mass 10 days out of the 11 I was there, and that was to about 7 different churches. Of those, the Basilica of Santo Nino de Cebu is pretty awesome.

The Taoist Temple is a must. Lot's of good shopping, eating, beaches, gambling.

You will just be missing Sinulog, which happens the 2nd and 3rd week of January, when I hope I will be going back hopefully to pick up my bata.

Work on your Bisaya and comment on all the taxis and jeepneys and all the beep beep. The local foods are good, barbequed bananas are a favorite.

I really wish you all the best, but do I understand correctly that you plan on filing for K-1 after meeting her just once ? Or have you met already and I missed it ?

Hmmmm if so I really think this is where some people's start.

Not to preach, but do you really need to rush ?

Good luck

Ana

No one really know what the OP meant by "suffering their fate." To me it's like the OP just meant.... KARMA! So what's the problem? Is the glass half empty or half full? Don't be so quick to judgement... But you are free to think and do whatever tickles your fancy.

Cheers!!!

No, not at all :) The ex-fiancée chose her path, and whatever comes of that is her own issue. JVMilan owes her no further emotional energy, as it is evident she expended none on him. I think the comment was rather factual, and yet, JVMilan is still able to offer both the fiancee and her family the best of luck with whatever consequences come from her choices.

Hey I don't know the guy, his deal or what happened with his ex. I remember him but never followed his posts or stories. Maybe he's got a right to say what he said. Surely he's got a right to feel whatever he wants. But it sounds more like he's saying 'lots o' luck babe' instead of 'best of luck'.

I mean - if she didn't love him, if she was truly using him to gain some benefit for herself and her family, isn't he better off without her?

Joe,

Hope you will find the happiness you seek this time around. Wishing you the best of luck.

We went to Cebu for a vacation this summer. Three wonderful weeks of warm & funny moments with family, going to the beach(es) and pigging out on the food. I'm not sure if December would be a good time to go but if you get a chance, check out Sumilon Island. It's AWESOME!! It used to be a Marine Reserve and they are trying to maintain a balance between having a nice resort without spoiling the marine life. If your fiancee knows a local travel agent, she should talk to them as they sometimes have good packages available.
