Hi, I'm currently a student which works part time (barely got a part time job a week ago). I'm concerned about the required income to bring my wife over. Would it be possible to have my parents (both) also be the co-sponsors since just 1 single income from them individually will not be good enough? Since I barely had gotten the job (I haven't worked before so there is no record of my tax history), would I be able to show them my income and use my name #### the sponsor also? Please help me with this! Thanks :)

If you don't make the minimum required by the USCIS you will need to have a co-sponsor. Your parents can sign as co-sponsors if they so desire.

Good luck!

ah, kind of discouraging. . .

my mother makes under 12k and so does my father. (sucks in today's economy). I was hoping it'd be possible to have them both to do it. Thanks all, much appreciated.

opps somehow skimmed past this. so would BOTH of my parents (with combined income) be able to sponsor her? Or does it have to strictly be one person?

My understanding is that you can only have one co-sponsor and that one person needs to be able to show income that would cover members of their family and the beneficiary. I could be wrong, perhaps someone else may clarify this.

I believe you're right(I've read that somewhere I think. But as far as I know it doesn't have to be a parent who is the co-sponsor. Do you have anyone that you know with a higher income who would be willing to support you? Perhaps another family member?

When my husband filed I-130 for me, my uncle was my sponsor. He is living in the U.S and is married; he and his wife filed tax jointly. I believe there is a separate form that my aunt-in-law had to sign. No problem with the USCIS.

Strongest Evidence? My 8-year relationship and 3-year marriage to my husband.

If it does not show commitment, then I don't know what does...

Thanks for the reply.

Let's say I don't want to go with the joint sponsor (co-sponsor) route and decided to get another job (which somehow meets the requirement) yet have no proof of tax for the past couple of years? Would having the current employers showing proof of the current position and hourly wage be sufficient enough?
