G-325A Form of Beneficiary: Who signs?

My husband and i just mailed our I-130 petition after a week of completing it.

We both read the I-130 instructions and it never mentioned that the beneficiary will sign off on any forms. That is exactly what we did... Even for my (beneficiary) G-325A form and continuation sheet.

Were we wrong in doing that? If yes, what can we do to remedy it?

I really thought that at the petition stage, everything should be signed off by the US citizen/ the petitioner :-/

Well the beneficiary g325a form must be signed by the beneficiary and the petitioner's by the petitioner. If not you most likely will get an RFE asking for a new signed g325a from the beneficiary.

When you fill it out, it says signature and date so it's kinda intuitive, if not you can always ask! I didn't understand whether the beneficiary or not signed it on your application, hope it is signed :) so no RFE!

AOS for parent Journey 

 

04/12/2021 → Filed I-130 online for parent (easier and didn't have AOS docs ready)

04/13/2021 → I-130 NOA1 available online

04/19/2021 → I-130 NOA1 Mail 

05/03/2021 → Sent through Fedex I-485 (with I-840 and sealed I-693 and I-130 NOA1 copy) I-765 I-131

05/06/2021 → Delivered to USCIS with signature confirmation.

05/25/2021 → Fingerprint Fee Was Received
05/26/2021 → Got text messages for I-485, I-765 and I-131 with receipt numbers.

05/27/2021 → Check cashed.

06/02/2021 → 3 NOAs for I-485, I-765 and I-131 arrived in the mail.

06/30/2021 → I485 online status update "Request for Initial Evidence"

07/06/2021 → RFIE letter arrived in the mail (I864 with 2020 tax return and w2s, 1090s)

07/23/2021 → Sent RFIE response through Fedex.

07/27/2021 → RFIE Response Delivered to USCIS with signature confirmation.

07/28/2021 → Status update RFIE response received. Working on case again. 

08/30/2021→Biometrics notice (no online case status update)

09/07/2021→ Biometrics letter arrived in the mail

09/22/2021 → Biometrics appointment completed. Online status updated 3 hours later to "Fingerprints Were Taken".

09/23/2021 → I-485 Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.

10/22/2021 → I-130 - Case is being actively reviewed by USCIS

11/30/2021 → I-765 - Case approved.

12/01/2021 → I-131 - Case approved.

12/08/2021 → I-765 - Combo Card delivered.

01/03/2022 → SS Card delivered! (From Combo card application)

01/03/2022 → SS Card delivered! (From Combo card application)

03/02/2022 → Interview scheduled. Notice coming in the mail soon.

03/17/2022 → I-130 Approved! Noa in the mail two days later.

03/31/2022 → Interview day and I-485 Card produced by the time we were leaving.
04/01/2022 → Case approved

04/04/2022 → NOA Case Approved arrived in the mail.
04/07/2022 → Parent's Green card in hand!

yes each person; petitioner and beneficiary is supposed to sign their respective G325 forms.

01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).

We each signed our respective G-325a both times without a hitch so far, but we were also in person both times we filed. I do remember reading somewhere that it might not be an issue what you did, but perhaps someone who has done the same thing can confirm it.

Correct, I read that thread too that said a petitioner once signed both forms with no issues.

If it was lucky that they got through? Idk... but it apparently happened.

Did a search on visajourney and it seemed that petitioners who did that didn't get RFEs.

I also tried searching for visajourney members who did that, who might have gotten RFEs, but I haven't found any.

I'm really concerned. :( i wish the i-130 instructions explained g-325a forms with more detail.

dont fret yourself this early in the game. i have read on VJ too about people doing that and were ok. Its just that one never knws the mood of tdhe individual who reviews each case. Its just an informational piece of paper to provide bio info for each member( which either person could) but then someone may insist they want each person to take responsibility of their info by signing their personal signature.

Thank you :) I did calm down as I was trying to find stories on here and on the internet about people getting RFEs by sending G-325a forms with both signed by the petitioner... But I haven't found any. Even got an archived memo from USCIS turn up in my search.

So, I will just wait for the NOAs (and the RFE, if it comes) and hope I frontloaded them with enough info to just say "Approved, of course!" ;)

I believe I mentioned already in another post by you that there is one form for each of you and that you would sign your form and your SO would sign theirs. As some have mentioned, this same error has been overlooked for others in the past so hopefully yours will also be OK!

I really hope so. Haven't found anyone on here share that they got an RFE.

I think my husband (the USC petitioner) signed both of our forms, so I am also hoping for the best.

There may not even be anything wrong with what you did.

Just wait and see if you get an RFE.

I (USC Petitioner) signed for my husband (Beneficiary). I called USCIS when I was filling out the form and asked them what I should do; they said I can sign for him and just note that he will sign his name if necessary at the embassy interview.
