Congrats!!! What did he bring with him to the interview? What questions were asked? Details ?

Thanks!

He was told to bring his passport with him. He did bring all the paperwork he took last time, just in case. He met with the case worker at the embassy, and this was the same person who did his interview last time (in June). He didn't say she asked any questions. She just said that everything was approved and she would take his passport, then would receive a call in the next 2 - 3 days. So, he's thinking he'll get the call this weekend. I'll post it here when he actually has it in his hands!

My husband just went today to get his medical exam done. He said it was expensive and he just realized his police record is expired so he's gonna get that done as well. Inshallah everything goes well

It cost my husband 30 thousand riyal. Including the two other hospital he had to go for other things the doctor ordered. After they finished the doctor told him to come and pick up the packet tomorrow. Inshallah will keep y'all updated and please pray for us. Inshallah will be prayingn for all of you . I don't want anyone going through this process. Which sucks but that's the price of getting in america.

I know a woman who has an appointment sceheduled for September 17th. Her appointment was originally on the 7th but they rescheduled. So I'm pretty sure they're planning to open before the 17th or else they wouldn't have scheduled her an appointment.

Hey do you know of h93 interview went well.

She's my sister, she went today to her appointment with her husband and daughter and they had all the papers and proof they needed but they told her they need proof that while her stay in Yemen she still currently resides in the US. :-(. But they didn't give her ap, she has utility bills in her name, they told her to send those in ASAP and after they receive that they will call her husband to drop his passport off and give him a visa date. So inshallah they're sending in the proof this week and all will go well.

Got to the embassy at 6:45 and our appointment was at 7:30. Went through secuirity checks and then they called us to a window. There was a Yemeni guy there who gathered all our papers. He asked me why I've been in Yemen for so long and if I have anything tying me back to America like bills. I told him no, but I had copies of all 3 of my passports and their stamps and my MI ID.He took them and told us to sit down till the council calls us. The council was a white woman and looks fairly young with blunt bangs. She was very nice and most people that went before us got approved fairly easily without any tough questions being asked. She called our name and I could tell her mind was already made. There was small talk and she mostly spoke to me although my husband is the one applying for a visa. She told me the only problem with our case is that I've been in Yemen for a year and 4 months and that the requirement for someone away from the U.S. for more than a year is that there needs to be something tying them to America. She told me the only solution is for me to go back to America and then send in the passport stamp to the embassy. I was crushed. Not so much for the visa but more so at the thought of leaving my husband. Then it occurred to me that I have some bills in my name in America that were being paid under my name while I've been here in Yemen. I told her this and she said it will do. She said we should send them to the embassy and then they will give my husband a date to drop off his passport to print his visa. We were so sad that we didn't get it because mostly everyone before us left happy. I was so sure we were gonna get the pink slip but I guess it wasn't meant for us today.

Everyone who got approved got a visa pick-up date on December 2, 2013. Which makes me think why so far away? But I think it's because they're back logged.

After the lady council interviewed about 5 people this other white guy started interviewing people. He was tough. Asking questions and somewhat rude aswell. I was glad we didn't have to deal with him. So now my dad is printing the bills and we're probably gonna send them in tomorrow. I'm so sure that if we had the paper they were looking for we would've gotten approved, with no AP. But now I think they're gonna slap us with AP even after I send in the required documents, but I guess we'll have to wait and see. My advice is for everyone to have their papers ready and organized. If they are, you're sure to be approved.

And if you can, take all your papers to a lawyer or a translation office. They will organize your papers for you just the way the embassy likes to take them. And just to give you ladies hope, I really really don't think they give all men AP. I took about 25 pics with me of our wedding, engagement party, and random occasions. If you have other pics besides your wedding, take them. We also had a really strong AOS and yes, they did ask who gave me the AOS. I told her he's my brother in law. She said 'good.' So I guess they are looking for some type of connection there. All in all, I don't think we were wronged. They were looking for a paper and we simply did not have it. I will think we are wronged if/when we send in the documents and then they give us AP. That would be bogus as hell since she told me specifically not to worry. 'All you have to do is send in those bills and we'll give your husband a date to drop off his passport so we can print the visa.' She said nothing about AP so Im hoping for once they stick to their word.

Hi when you arrived at the embassy they let u in with your husband? Because it says on the interview letter u can't come in. Do you it's best for me to go to the interview with my wife?

Also you said that" they need something tying you to USA" I have my work pay stubs, diplomas and WU receipts -- is that enough proof?

Did you have to pay any type of fee at the embassy? If so how much?was it in usd or rials?

Wow sounds like for the most part you had a good experience! Glad to hear it and hope they'll keep to their word and give you the pickup date when you send the additional evidence they requested. Must be a relief! Inshallah you and your husband will be on your way home soon good.gif
