Help on I-130 for stepson

Dear friends,

I have filed I-130 for my husband and now I'm going to prepare I-130 for my stepson (16 years old). I have following questions. (my I-126F's NOA1 dated 10/27)

Besides his birth certificate and my marriage certificate(to his father),

1. Do I need to submit G325A for both of us?

2. Do I need to submit passport style photos?

3. Do I need certificate that shows his relationship to my husband(his father)?

What else do I need?

The instructions attached to the form tell you what supporting documentation must be supplied when petitioning for a stepchild.

According to the instructions you only have to provide the marriage cert but since you are applying separately from the father I would include his birth cert as well. I also had the same questions but several reps @ USCIS said I didn't have to complete a separate G-325A for his son.

06/08/07 - NVC confirmed new address

06/18/07 - DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) & AOS (I-864) Fee Bill generated

06/23/07 - Recv'd DS-3032 & AOS Bill via snail mail

07/09/07 - Emailed DS-3032 (Choice of Agent) to NVC

07/19/07 - Mailed AOS Fee Bill ($70) to St. Louis, MO

07/19/07 - Recv'd email from NVC - Choice of Agent was accepted

07/23/07 - IV (DS-230) Fee Bill was generated

08/11/07 - Recv'd IV Fee Bill via snail mail

08/15/07 - Recv'd AOS Packet in the mail

Actually my step-son is only 9 so he didn't need it our case but you might. I know every embassy is different but in Jamaica any child over 14 will need to complete the form since they will have to interview for the visa.

I would say to include a copy since it won't hurt.

Hi Sharon,

To answer your question more clearly.....NO you don't send any G325A's with a stepchild petition....NO you do not have send any photos.....you need a copy of your marraige certificate and copies of any divorce decrees as well s BC for both petitoner and child.
