Here is how it went for me :

- received text message and email on 1/23 : saying I-130 approved and a mail notice will be sent to me

- received another text and email on 1/24 : saying "post-decision" activity

- received mail notice (black/white paper) on 1/26 from filed office in San Antonio : saying my file was sent to NVC.

- received final mail notice from NBC (color official 797 notice) on 1/29

I kept calling NVC every day and as of 1/31 they still don't have my case "received" at NVC.

I think you're misreading the second email. I got one email saying approved, and then another that says this:

But I never got an email saying they mailed the approval to me...

So strange... My email did not say anything about sending to Department of State/NVC, it just said this:

Here is below what the email notification said. It seems everyone is getting different flavors, maybe processing center differences?

But, as also indicated, I also received a letter from local office saying I am approved but also indicating clearly (they checked one of several options in the choices in their letter) that my case was sent to NVC.

Wow, so many emails for the same notice! lol! Um what I think is that the first email is notice of your approval and the second one, if it says Post-Decision Activity means that they've sent the file to NVC (sometimes it says Dept of State, NVC is part of Dept of State). You can also check your case status on the uscis website, if it moves from approval to post decision activity it means they've sent the file.

Would getting support from the state representative help the NVC and visa process.

I know people get support through I-130 process but I was wondering about NVC...

Hey all,

Would getting support from the state representative help the NVC and visa process.

I know people get support through I-130 process but I was wondering about NVC...
