Just curious...does anyone know how man people work the phones at NVC? I've gotten "Gus" many times now. I heart him. He is my favorite! "Thumbs up!". Lol

My son's name is Al-Ameen and he calls him "AL" all the time. Cracks me up.

Anyway, just wondering. Has to be a small number as I've gotten Gus about 5 times already.

Gus is the best i swear. He rocks.

I suggest something else.

print a letter size page with the title of each civil document in big letters, then a 2nd line with the casefile #, beneficiary name and DOB, petitioner name and DOB, all portrait orientation.

Then fold the paper at a 90 degree angle , put in at a 90 degree angle to the civil document so that the big printed thing is viewable on the right side. Need to punch holes? Punch the holes in the paper you just printed, not the civil docs.

One thing per civil document.

Want to get fancier? Use colored paper (non white) .

This is a very good suggestion!

I made copies of all my documents/certificates and put them in my packets. Then I placed the originals in an envelope that was slightly bigger than the documents. I printed the contents of the envelope on the envelope itself and two hole punched the top of the envelope. done and done.

  this is exactly what I was going to do! thank you!

Make sure to read the second quote in the very first post of this thread.

When (and how often) should I start calling NVC about the case number?

Wait at least a week from your NOA2 date, then start calling. And call every single day afterwards until you get it.

How long does it take for the AOS to be entered into the system? I mailed it on 1/8/13 and I just called and they said they haven't received it yet but I see by tracking it that it was signed for...so is she meaning that is just hasn't been put in the computer? If this is in the first post of the thread then sorry I really didn't see it....thanks

It'll only show up on the operator's computer once the package has begun the review process. Until then, it doesn't show up, which is kind of bad as I know a LOT of people freak out when they hear their package hasn't been received, despite what tracking says.

our I-130 petition finalllllyyyyyyy got to NVC!!! and they gave me the "it'll take 2-4 weeks to put in the system" answer, but I was also told that our k3 is being mailed to the consulate tody!! yay!

So my question is, there is no way they will close the I-129F at this point right? although they finally have the I-130 in the "building" because she said they're mailing it out...I think that's the route we are going to take because it looks like it'll get me home sooner at this point.
