Hello,

My wife who is the beneficiary has already gotten her interview date. I read at http://photos.state.gov/libraries/india/521916/Packet%204/Packet%204%20Info.pdf that she needs to take a copy of DS230 form along with her during the interview.

The problem is that when we submitted this form to NVC, we forgot to make a copy of it. What should we do now? I am guessing that the officer during the interview should have the original form for her to sign, and the copy might not be required. But, I am not sure and don't want to take any risk.

Two questions:

1) Is the link above valid and shows an absolute list of all the documents that she needs to take during the interview? Is there anything else besides what is listed that she should take with her?

2) How can we obtain the copy of the DS230 form that we have already submitted?

Any guidance will be much appreciated.

Thank you!

First of all, i wish you wife very good luck for the interview. Secondly, Once you receive packet 4 from NVC, their will be a list of documents needed at the time of interview. I dont think that you will require copy of it. If you still want the copy of DS 230, just print out a new one.

I don't think that you will be able to obtain the copy of DS-230 from anywhere and your file might be on the way to embassy at this time.

1. You are correct in your assumption, the officer will conduct the interview based on the submitted DS-230 form. I don't know if the link is valid but, in the interview scheduled email are all the document requirements, it tells you which documents have been received by the NVC and which ones you need to bring with you to the interview. Since your wife is the one signing the form, you can fill out another one and have her sign part 1 and, take this with her to the interview. It will be very unlikely she will be asked for this form during the interview. Another documentation that I would bring: supporting documentation for I-864 and copy of your I-130 packet.

2. The IV unit at the embassy has your original submitted for DS-230, which is part of your case file. Just make another one and have your wife sign part 1. Good Luck

she don't need Ds-230, NVC already sent all documents and forms to Consulate.

last page of interview letter (P-4) states what they have and what to bring, if any

Your documents should already be in que or on their way to your embassy. all i can tell you is my experience was that a copy was not needed, i took copies of my entire case from start to finish with me and had very little asked for. at the very worse just download a DS230 fill it out and have your wife sign part one. it will be the same as the one you sent in.. Good luck im sure you will be fine.. god bless
