Our case just went to nvc. I am hoping it moves very quickly :P. She is in Iran with her family currently and we are anxious to be together.

First question is how long from the time the nvc sends documents are the interviews scheduled typically?

Second question is she and I want to wait for the visa after the interview and fly home together. Is this wise? I am not sure how many Iranian women interviews go to a/r.

Thanks

Steve

Below is a partial copy of a timeline from a woman whose spouse was also doing an interview in Ankara, via Iran. It should give you a pretty good idea of how much time you have left. It seems from her timeline, that it took almost 5 months from the time of the NOA2 (sent to NVC as yours is now) on 1/12 to the actual interview on 6/6. So, just under 5 months.

On a side note, my wife is not Iranian, but Turkish, and we are awaiting packet 2 from the NVC at this time. My I-130 was approved on Sept 1. So, that is the point where we are at in the 2 months time period since our case was sent to the NVC (We already received the IV bill and sent that back about 3-4 weeks ago). So we seem to be processing at about the same pace as that timeline below, and I expect by the time my wife has her interview, it will be around 5 months as well .

By the way, I noticed your profile says k-3 (saw it after I wrote my original reply)..........so, I assume that would be shorter.

But since that timeline is for and I-130 (same as what I filed on behalf of my wife).....it will obviously vary a bit compared to how long a k-3 takes.

My fiance live in Iran. NVC received his packet in January, Ankara in February. His interview was April 25 and he was verbally approved but he must wait on his security clearance. He was told it would take 3 weeks to 2 months longer.

So I would not advise planning on waiting in Ankara for the Visa unless you are certain the Clearance is completed. Some take a few weeks some take months.

BTW he said his interview lasted a total of four minutes. So either there is a major problem and they just said it was verbally approved or our paperwork perfectly done.
