Hello everyone!

Has anyone here heard about the "required clearance" if you have lived in a different country for more than 6 months since the age of 16? I lived in another country for a year and I wanna know if it's really asked/checked during the interview.

Any input is highly appreciated.

Thanks peeps!

You will need 'police certificates from your present country of residence and all countries where you have lived for 6 months or more since age 16 (Police certificates are also required for accompanying children age 16 or older)'

CR1 as well, although for countries other than your country of nationality it seems to be those you have lived in for more than 12 months. http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html#police

Further extending OP's question:

I lived in the US for 7-8 years in three different states (as a student and later working). Would I require police statement from all three states?

Thanks!

Edit: I found out my answer 2 minutes after posting this. Nevermind :) For those with similar question: no you dont need police certificate from US. Have a good day.
