It's a question that seems to preoccupy everyone except me and my intended. We will have a legal one in the US asap after entry for the expected reasons and then have a "do" back in Blighty next year. Most of our family and friends are in the UK some of whom are getting a bit old for a 10hr flight and as my fiancee is a Brit too it makes more sense.

Normally people would be planning a wedding by this point. Getting the Visa and my move sorted out is quite enough stress thank you.

On April 19th user Alema_2011 claimed twice that they were January 2013 filers and had been approved on April 19th. However that user has no timeline so I am a little suspicious that either they were joking or they were January 2012 filers. But there have been a few late December approvals so we may see a few coming through now and then. Everyone assumes this is a first-come, first-served process but it appears to in reality be a bit more of a bell curve with a few lucky people being approved earlier than expected and a few unlucky ones being approved later than expected.

Someone else claimed that according to Sen Boxer's office the CSC expects to process all filers before September by the end of April (seems optimistic I know) and all Sept/Oct filers by the end of May. With a good percentage of November and December already processed that means January petitions will likely be approved in late June or thereabouts. Nerve-wracking I know but that would be 6 months for us and at this point I can live with that.

Yes, everyone that I haven't seen for a week or more, the next time I meet them always asks when the wedding is. It's getting pretty annoying, especially as the answer is always that I have no idea, it all depends on the visas. I should just print out a bunch of cards saying that due to visas taking an undetermined amount of time, I cannot determine when the wedding will be and just throw them at people when they approach.

In any case, going to Ukraine to visit my loved one in a week! Yay!
