This may be good news for those waiting for the backlog at the California Service Center to clear.

My fiance and I were looking through help-wanted ads to see what type of positions are open in her field. We came across the following ad:

Data Entry Position for Government Job Description:

Seeking candidates who will be doing data entry of files for the Citizenship and Immigration Services. Must be able to type at least 30 words per minute and have good organizational skills.

-------MUST HAVE MINIMUM OF (ONE) 1 YEAR OFFICE EXPERIENCE-------

REQUIREMENTS: - Must be a U.S. citizen

Must be able to pass a background check

Must have High School Diploma/GED

Must type at least 30 WPM

Hours: Monday through Friday

Available Shifts are

6:00am-2:30pm or 3:00pm-11:30pm

Required Skills:

HEAVY TYPING

ACCURATE DATA ENTRY

Job location is Laguna Niguel,CA

Compensation: $14.29 per hour

good thing we're through at that center... my fiance applied at niguel's center.

I would hate to be someone who answers phone there since they make you ask the most retarded questions about 5 times per minute over and over again. What a headache.

Apparently this is the normal time of year when the service centers hire - their contracts expire in September/October according to my senator's office. I can't imagine they are actually adding staff (that would make too much sense) rather than filling the positions of people who left when the contracts expired, but you never know.
