Here are the various version of the form: Now wait and see.

Form I-797: Types and Functions

USCIS uses numerous types of Form I-797 to communicate with customers or convey an immigration benefit. Form I-797 is NOT a form you can fill out. The chart below gives a brief description of each:

Form Number Description I-797, Notice of Action Issued when an application or petition is approved. I-797A, Notice of Action Issued to an applicant as a replacement Form I-94. I-797B, Notice of Action Issued for approval of an alien worker petition. I-797C, Notice of Action Issued to communicate receipt of payments, rejection of applications, transfer of files, fingerprint biometric, interview and re-scheduled appointments, and re-open cases. I-797D Accompanies benefit cards. I-797E, Notice of Action Issued to request evidence. I-797F, Transportation Letter Issued overseas to allow applicants to travel.

In Arizona its hot hot hot.

Need Help?

IMO: Yep, the entire mmigration process is certainly in need of help. :help:

The accuracy of the automated system has always been a bit suspect. However, recently, many folks have reported spurious messages and updates. The forum is loaded with such threads, review some for details. Due to issues of veracity, when I have had the need to contact the immigration bureaucracy (USCIS/NVC/DoS/CBP), I have taken to the practice of calling them three times. I then take the best two out of three answers as being the likely correct response. :wow:

As with this whole process, believe it when you see the actual document, i.e., I-797, I-797c, RFE, visa, etc., in your hand.

YMMV.

Happy trails on your immigration journey.

It's Christmas time, mail is slower. It can easily take 2 weeks to get mail through USPS. If she is worried, she may want to call in, get a human and double check they have the right address for her.
