My fiancee is working in America on a H1B visa. We are planning on getting married in America. Two questions.

1. Do we need to do anything with immigration before we get married because he already has a valid visa.

2. How do we go about getting a green card once we are married and how long does it take.

You would adjust status after marriage.

If his visa is still valid you can go right ahead and get married. Then you go to link posted above and read on how to adjust status to get a green card.

Congrats on your marriage, we are assuming you are american, if so you can go ahead get married then file for AOS adjustment of status, the preious posters have referered you to the link, a lot of great infomation and guidance are posted in there. Good luck
