Chaning interview date in Montreal

Hello everyone. I was wondering what people's experience was with changing an interview date in Montreal. We have the 15th of this month, which is great, except my fiancee is having a hard time arranging transportation. The train isn't a whole lot cheaper than a plane, plus cost of housing/transportation in Montreal. She figures it's close to $1000 and that's money we can't really afford to spend. Has anyone changed their date before and if so, how accomodating is the consulate. Will she hear right away, or go back into the pool amd have to wait? Thanks!

Sounds like a huge risk. Are you sure you can't move some things around financially so she can afford the trip?

I can't get the time off to rent a car there and take her. Her brother could take her, but he's having car issues and can't rent a car. She doesn't drive at all.
