Hello everyone, I had an appointment at the US embassy in Cairo on October 11th, they asked me to provide them with more documents. After my interview was over and I went back home, I went to their website to check on my case in the administrative processing section, it said that the case number is not valid. After all the documents were sent, and that was about a week ago, I went to check again and now it gives me this message when I put in my case number "Barring unforeseen circumstances, you should receive your visa within 2 weeks. Please send your passport. Click here for more information on the DHL Courier Service". Does this mean that I'm approved? and is it really going to take just 2 weeks or do you think it will take more?

Thank you,

Karim

PS. I'm an IR2 applicant.

Thank you very much. :)

But, they actually took my passport when I was there for the interview 2 months ago. I don't get it, why does it say please send your passport.

Sounds like you have been approved! I would call them and clarify that they do have your passport, and ask why they had specified for you to send it in. CONGRATS!!!!!!!! :)

Thanks for your reply. :)

I've already sent them an email this morning. If they don't reply, I'll have to call them. Waiting makes me very nervous and worried!

It might be best to call them, they take so long to answer emails. It does sound like you were approved :) Calling will get a faster answer and you don't have to feel so anxious.

I've been calling them for 2 hours and they are not picking up. But they have replied to my email, and this is what they said "Please note that your case is in the final processing stage and will be issued shortly.

Consular Section

U.S. Embassy, Cairo".

It still doesn't answer my question about "please send your passport", but I guess this was a good answer anyway. :D
