Just stating and Co-sponsor worries

Hi guys,

Just signed up as this was exactly what my Fiance and I were looking for. We think we have most of the initial petition paperwork together, but we were trying to check through for anything that could cause problems. I am sure more questions will come up, but rather than start a new topic, I have a very similar question to the OP.

My fiance is the petitioner and is a final year student, obviously with very limited income. I am full-time employed British living in England, so would be going to the London embassy, however if they do not allow co-sponsor we could really struggle to complete this affidavit.

Does anyone know what the British/London take is on this?

Many thanks,

Feiti

London typically allows co-sponsors and even self-sponsor. Of course, we don't yet know if this denial is a part of larger change in policy that effects other consulates, or if it is just a one-off.

AOS for my husband
8/17/10: INTERVIEW DAY (day 123) APPROVED!!

ROC:
5/23/12: Sent out package
2/06/13: APPROVED!

Mmmm so really we have to go on with the process and just hope this isn't the case it seems.. By self sponsor do you mean have assets (i.e cash in bank) as i didnt think i could apply my income to the petition..

Edit: Just saw Jay-Kays response, thanks guys - have to admit being at the start of this thing is daunting..

Correct, the UK citizen can self-sponsor...for now at least. There was a recent K-1 who did this in late November: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/page__view__findpost__p__5844882

~~~~Topic split from K-1 visa DENIED - Public Charge - pretty outraged.~~~~
It is still better to ask your question in your own thread as not all the information related would be the same, and at times people can confuse your question with the other poster.
