Hello,

I submitted the 129f in mid October this year, and of course my fiancee and I are waiting for the approval. Now, we are both gathering all of the required documents for the embassy interview and hoping for a swift processing time. I have a question about the financial documents that she will need for her interview at the embassy. I am visiting her in late December, and we were thinking that it would be good if I brought all the documents with me. Since our petition hasn't been approved yet, is it too soon to get the required financial documents? The signed letter from my employer, bank, and bank statements might be somewhat dated if our processing time is long, and I do not want my boss and bank to have to do this again if our petition is not approved until March or later. Thank you in advance to anyone who replies!

Personally, I would wait until next year. The wait time for K1 is 5 plus months. If you are really itching to get the documents ready maybe start gathering them at the 4 month mark ? This way they are still recent enough if it takes one or two more months to your NOA2.

Again...that is only my opinion :)

I was/am very anxious to get all the paperwork ready but at the same time, I do not want to jump way ahead either. There can be delays and having to re-do everything with more recent date would be extra work spent for nothing especially if it requires sending things and involving employer and bank and what not.

Patience is the key. Good luck btw !!!

GC received on the 28th of February, 2014 - no interview, no additional RFE's

Divorced as of September, 2014

NOA1 for ROC 14 October, 2014

Life goes on, my ex-husband is a moron.

Welcome to the forum.

The documents that you mention are somewhat time-sensitive, and should be as current as possible. It would be a real bummer if you got a RFE or rejection simply due to "stale" financial documents. You still have a lot of "waiting time" ahead of you. For example, petition approval times seem to be taking a little longer than usual , then you have the NVC processing time, then the transit time to the interviewing embassy/consulate, then processing time at the interviewing embassy/consulate, then packet 3 documents receipt/completion/submittal, then setting of the interview appointment, then….. , and that is assuming no other issues or RFEs along the way... Be patient, it will pay off in the end.

YMMV.

Happy trails on your visa journey.

Way too soon. You filed in October so expect an interview in June-July. You will need the "most recent tax return" which by then will be 2012 and you will not have it in Late December. wait until the petition gets approved, then prepare these things. weven after approval you are looking at 1 month or more before an interview, more like 2 months from approval usually. Plenty of time to send this stuff over.

There's no packet 3 in the Kiev embassy. As soon as they received your stuff from the NVC and have everything in the system, you can schedule an appointment.

You must bring in all the needed documents to the interview, but otherwise you're correct with all the other waiting.

This is all according to their site.

Agree with the others on the waiting. At least 4 to 5 months given that your approval will more than likely be 5 to 6 months down the road. Most recent tax return is a must. If your consulate allows you to schedule your interview, then you can always schedule your interview far enough to have that added time for gathering as well.
